These balls, different brand, have worked well for our family. Drying time is reduced and there may be less static. I also like never needing a dryer sheet. I'm a little surprised some of the commenters are baffled by the idea of this. Didn't your moms put tennis balls in the dryer with large stuff? That's American moming 101 stuff. The idea is that things that are fluffed around will dry faster than those stuck together.

My mom died at a young age and we were too poor to have a washer, let alone a dryer. We washed all our clothes at the riverbank.

Closely examine these when you get them. The ones I received were obviously used with human hair stuck to them. WTF? How is this even possible?
Thats p8bic hair of the lamb it came from !!!

I use liquid fabric softener. Do you think that I could use these and not use the liquid softener and have great results? Mostly concerned with my scrubs as they are pretty pricey and I like them to last as long as possible. Thanks!
I use these with my figs scrubs ( have had the same 5 pairs of figs for 7 years now!) and they come out soft and without wrinkles. I don't even have to iron my scrubs. I also haven't had to use fabric softener or dryer sheets in years.

I'm surprised so many people don't seem to mind all the noise dryer balls make banging around.

Stupidity?

They work. You can save money.
These work great. I have cats and my black shirts are no longer covered in hair. I live in a really dry area, maybe that has something to do with it.

I did a DIY with thick socks, them wrapped in a small mesh bag to keep the socks in shape like a ball. It works fine.

Any fragrances that are recommended to add to these that are safe ?
I've seen elsewhere you can put a couple drops of essential oils on them for scent. Idk, never tried. I'd be worried about oil spots.

I used dryer balls for a while. I didn't notice much of a difference. If you're interested, check out the Popular Mechanics article where they did real testing and found that the balls didn't do much.
I wonder if they just threw the balls in the dryer. Before y'all say "no s**t"--it doesn't work like that. I put the balls neatly inside the thicker materials. For bath towels I'll fold them, then insert the balls inside the folds. For a regular load I put them inside pant legs, etc. I also use like at least 6 balls.

They do make laundry dry more evenly, which isn't the same thing as faster although it has a similar effect.

The more you add, the quicker the dry? Anyone know? Can I throw in 12 of these and get better results vs 3?
In my experience - yes.
