I chatted Best Buy and was able to get them to price match Microcenter a couple of months ago on this same CPU. Its worth a shot, took about 5 minutes.

Pretty good price. I believe the all time low was $129 earlier this year.
For those who don't know, this is for AM4 boards. It can be a decent upgrade for those still on the platform, but otherwise, find a newer chip on the latest AM5 platform.

If you can get the 5900XT for $200 at MC. I think thats a better deal. Thats what I got last time. Instead of doing a new build.

if your making a build from scratch try for am5 as it's newer. this cpu is for am4, if you already have am4 system that needs a CPU this is a good deal or the 5900xt.MC has am5 bundles you can look into as well if you have one locally.

This would be a good upgrade from my 3600 on my my gigabyte a320m-s2h board with RTX 2070 super.

Any suggestions on a new motherboard, ddr5 and am5 CPU? I'm not in a rush, and can even wait until Christmas honestly.

If I'm going to drop 140+ tax just for the CPU to get a little bit longer life out of the existing system, I'd rather have a solid foundation to grow from with an am5. Thanks for your suggestions ahead of time!
