We have this one at home and like most it can be messy but slapping the side with your hand dispells most the situation. We also have the cuisineart one that's also on sale here at the office and that thing takes forever and is very loud. We often avoid brewing a second pot because of that fact. We can set this to about 15 seconds for an 8 cup pot and it's an excellent range of grind size since it doesn't have preset clicks. Easy to clean too!
We have it in blue, but we are buying this one to replace that one and then donating it to our office. Keeping it white will be the challenge. We usually store our pourover on top of the hopper...

Bought this 8 years ago. At least for the black one, the outer plastic got sticky after about a year, and then died after about 3 years. I bought the Oxo grinder and it's been significantly better in every way except it's a little bit taller. I think definitely better to get the Capresso one on sale now that was also posted on SD or wait for a sale on the Oxo one.

The Capresso one on sale now is fantastic. Have 4 of them deployed with various family and homes over the last 10 years or so.

Pro Tip: to avoid the messy static buildup that flings the ground coffee all over when opening the bin, just put a few drops of water into the whole bean hopper before grinding.

I have read this tip before and haven't tried it (yet) and have a question. Does this only work if the drops of water hit the beans that are about to be ground? And if so, it only works if you keep the hopper almost empty? For convenience, to avoid having to refill beans every time, I fill the hopper completely, so the hopper is most of the time between full and 1/4 full so am not sure how well it would work.

Right before you grind, put a couple or several drops of water into/onto the whole beans. If you have a 1/4 hopper full, use less drops. I use 5 or 6 drops from my fingers just flung into a full hopper. I would re-drip/drop every time right before grinding. It is a very tiny amount of water, but it works like a miracle.

Mine has been going strong for a long time, but the plastic on mine also got really sticky. I don't know why they use this coating.

I was actually able to completely remove the sticky plastic with isopropyl and quite a bit of elbow grease scrubbing. Gave it a hard shiny plastic appearance which is much easier to maintain than the 'soft' plastic coating.
