Me either (Richmond, VA). I got one of these in 2013 for half this price on clearance at Target, but I was still thinking about grabbing this. Apart from the cookbox, they don't last like they used to and I've found warranty support to be iffy at best.
FWIW, I am sure the new design is cheaper (no doors) but it also looks to me like it will drain better and avoid some of the water damage that plagued mine, despite having sprayed it for protection.

The nice thing about Weber is that you should be able to find any replacement part you need. Are you using a cover? My clearance Sprit E-210 from Target I got about 10 years ago is still going strong. The only thing I did was replace the flavorizer bars and I found generic stainless steel ones on ebay.
