Just a heads up: there's multiple reports of Oris denying calibre 400 repairs on watches not purchased through an AD.
yes, no watch manufacturer will repair your watch for free if you purchase it from an unauthorized dealer.

watchmaxx is NOT an authorized Oris dealer. they SAY they have a "2 Year WatchMaxx Warranty", but it's actual garbage. Watchmaxx shops around to find the cheapest possible insurance plan warranty. This is solely for them to say, in the rare instance that you do have any issues, "hey contact the warranty company, not our problem".

These bargain basement 3rd party warranty companies are horrendous and sell their "warranties" to Watchmaxx for pennies banking solely on the fact that it's almost impossible to actually make a claim.

But hey, with the money that you save, even if the very rare instance your watch needs fixing, the money you saved will more than pay for it, so there's not too much to worry about.

Overall I do recommend Watchmaxx, had good experiences with them, you just need to fully understand what you are getting. (i.e. NO warranty, NO "stamped warranty card", etc)

I have the same Aquis but in blue 43.5mm. It's an excellent price for a watch that punches way above its price range. The quality is outstanding, from bracelet to watch movement itself. I wore mine to vacations, swam in salt water, used it pretty much doing everything and it's a strong watch. It's a bit heavy and will stick out from under the shirt if you dress up in it, but I love mine and now a big fan of the brand. Mine does have a jumping seconds hand issue but it doesn't bother me much. 120 hour power reserve is well worth it too as is a 10 year warranty if purchased from AD. Joma or Watchmaxx are not ADs so yor warranty won't work, but their 2 year one will. This watch won't come with papers hence take your risk.

You may want to schedule a trip to your local optometrist
I can assure you better vision will not make this watch look better. It's a $20 Walmart watch.

You misunderstood. There's multiple reports of Oris refusing to even repair these non-AD calibres in any circumstance. Even if you're willing to pay for the service (as you should if it wasn't purchased via an AD).

I would not buy a watch with an in-house movement from a grey market dealer - period. An ETA, Miyota or Sellita? Definitely.

Looks like a watch from Walmart
Once you get into watches a bit more, you'll realize pictures are a terrible way to see what a watch is really like. Often video's will give you a better idea than pictures but in person on on the wrist is the best way of course.

You can't win this argument. DrRad and the likes have no interest in quality watches. They simply come to these posts to troll.

While true... I've purchased many watches from non AD sellers. Watchman and Joma included. Of all those watches only one had an issue and Joma made it right quickly. There's certainly a risk associated but it's very small.

Currently I own 3 watches with Calibre 400s in them. All 3 function perfectly.

Yes, I've bought a couple of watches from Jomashop without issue. You just don't know when they are going to ship. But watches were fine. One Omega and one Panerai. I have no problem buying from them.

I am little sick and tired of swiss starters / aka smaller brands that price their watches like they are something people dream about... instead of trying to ease into the market and as they build better they increase pricing, they are in fact pricing $4,000 watches that do not look good, very pricey considering many other vrands can be had for those amounts (Omega, Breitling. Longines, Tudor, etc. like cmon now Oris)...
