I think hot honey might be one of the most overrated food products of the last 10 years; unless you're either:
a) making a glaze that you have to make just a little more spicy, or
b)making a spicy sauce you want to be just a little more sweet

and you're making enough to use an entire bottle of this stuff, you're basically just ruining a perfectly bottle of honey, because you're probably not gonna use it for much else. I just ended up making my own (literally all you have to do is put peppers in some honey and let it sit for awhile, seriously).

Honey is just too expensive for this nonsense.

I use it as a condiment more than anything, rather than for cooking. Great on pizza imo. That said, I somewhat agree with you, but when I find hot honey on on decent sale, it's cheaper than making it yourself. This same size bottle of regular honey in the same brand costs like $7-8. Why would I pay more for the honey + the peppers and time to make it myself instead in that instance?

That's completely fair, and I agree this is a great deal for anyone who uses it the same way you do. But for me it only took one instance of sinking too much money into a 16oz bottle of the stuff, all the while thinking "there's no way I won't use this all the time—everyone loves it!"

It's still in the cabinet waiting for me to to be in the mood to turn it into BBQ sauce. Now every time I see hot honey I can't help but imagine what might've been (or, in this case, what might've not been lol). I'd LOVE more recommendations of anyone has found gold uses for the stuff, but I pretty much only eat honey with peanut butter, and I learned the hard way that spicy peanut butter is not the move.
