This is a game that I would just want a digital copy of, but...it's tempting with this promo and the $10 that they gave me.

Meh.

Alternate thought.
Preorder for store pickup and wait a couple days. If reviews/user feedback is good then go pick up and get that $10 preorder bonus. If poor, cancel and lose nothing. I have some certificates though I need to use so probably going to do that.
Nope, especially for EA games.

People never learn. Remember how hyped people were for BF 2042? Battlefront 2? How did those games end up?
BF2042 is flawed, but they made it work pretty well in the end. BF 5 and 4 were great. 1 sucked imo, but others liked it. And there were open betas here. This is one of the rare exceptions where i can understand people preordering.

I had 2 $10 gc's in my account for some reason, and another $100 GC to use up from a prior purchase. Easier decision for me, the beta was promising. If you have the BB CC, login and see if you have those $10 gc's. I'm betting they were some promo sent out for being a CC holder.

Of course you can but dont be surprised when they only return 60$ before tax instead of the 70$ you spent.

EA is being brought private using leveraged buyout with kushner and the Saudis. I just cancelled my preorder. Get ready for microtransactions BS like what happened with battlefront 2

Quote from Shake-N-Bake :
$70 in this economy is fantastic. Games are one of the only things that have never kept up with inflation. Games were often $70 on N64. We even had some $100 games in the SNES days. Game development costs have gone up exponentially, and yet we're still only paying $50-$70. That's crazy. We should be paying $100-$120 for bigger games like this. People can get as mad as they want for not being entitled and thinking games should be cheaper, but it's just basic economics. I definitely don't like paying $70, and I almost never buy a game at full price, but it is very much a fair price. Now, not every game is worth $70, but that's completely subjective.
Game total sales have gone up exponentially since then as well. Take one of the best selling N64 games, goldeneye. It sold ~8 million copies over its lifetime.

Battlefield 2042 sold 4 mil launch week. 10 million on steam alone total.

edit: don't know what happened with the quote there, part of my comment is in your quote lol

I'd like to pick this up, but I can't get behind it until they show what their monitization looks like. sounds like end of October for the first round of macrotransactions.
