Really? Will look into Garmin.

My Apple watch can control most of my house (lights, unlock w/ homekey, etc). Doorbell pushes thumbnails of visitors straight to watch.

Can control all my entertainment devices through Siri. Applepay. Unlock my MacBook. Integrates well with carplay--vibrates when it's time to exit/turn. And ofc, workouts/health/etc.

Looks like a bunch of buyers remorse returns, given this just came out.

It pains to see how bad the resale values are for these watches.

Likelyhood with this new model we see the ultra watch 2 around 400- 500? Thanks!

I would trade up since my Ultra 2 battery is horribly weak now (running exercise apps). But the upgrade from U2 to U3 is minimal. 5G/Satellite/battery power, that's it.

But it's always $500 on top of trade which is ridiculous. Crazy last generation trade ins only count for 30% of the cost. Should be 50% average.

Is this really only 42hr of battery life? Garmin is slightly more expensive but at least you would get a real watch that lasts for half a month and can do way more than this.

Currently using a FR955 on Android. My watch receives thumbnails from Wyze camera notifications. Garmin uses their own payment system called Garmin Pay.
Regarding IoT control and entertainment devices through phone assistants, that's locked behind the Fenix 8 since Garmin only added microphone and speaker to the latest device. From what people have said, you can change the on-device assistant to activate Siri but there are some reports that it's slow.

Are people really paying $700 for a watch? That gets old in a year and still look the same?
As crazy as it seems to people like us, yes, people really are pushing $700 for these. I personally couldn't fathom that. I'm interested in getting a smartwatch but I don't want to spend anything like that and I'm an Android guy anyways.
I still use ultra 1 and I don't see a point to sell it for 1/4th price and buy latest model.Rinse repeat every year?Apple ecosystem of watch and phone is over $2k a year. Money is a joke in 2025.
Still have my aw1 #And gonna keep it if I get another iPhone again. The aw1 should be able to last for six years. I'd be a fool to sell it for cheap.

I thought the same, but I still have the gen 1 from a week or 2 out of release date and it works great, no scratches and battery life still awesome (for an Apple Watch). Maybe I'll upgrade next year or the year after.

I have a Garmin Epix Gen 2 that I got for the long battery life and fitness/activity tracking. Been eyeing an apple watch for the smart home control. I guess I have to wear a watch on each wrist!
I have both the Epix Gen 2 and the AW 2. As a smart watch the AW2 is better and integrates well into the Apple ecosystem. The user interface is a lot smoother to. Not that the Epix lags but it's noticeably less smooth. Battery life the Epix destroys the AW2. With the AW2 I get a full 48 hours of use with 20% battery left and I use workout and running tracking at least an hour a day. I get around 5-6 days with the Epix. For running the Epix is light years better. It tracks way more stats. For me the reason I use the AW2 is the cellular line. I get free cellular on it with Visible so I can leave my phone at home and just have my watch and be able to take calls and listen to music while on a run. Garmin is missing the boat on this.

Then buy the Apple Watch SE from last year?

This is a product that falls into a "Solution Looking for A Problem", but here goes you sheep with your hard earned money working many extended hours just to save, cash your checks, placing your money in an envelope and bringing it to the Apple alter presenting it as an offering.
