So not the low of $1500 but with current turmoil, unlikely it will come back anything soon.

Most people believe this is the clone of Onkyo's RZ70.
It has a few feature differences but likely wouldn't hear a difference.
Here is a comparison:
https://www.zkelectronics.com/com...vsx-lx805/

This is the one Pioneer unit that does not have global crossovers.
It has 4 sub outs but two run parallel, so only 2 are independent.

Should have added the price on the title. $1799 at Best Buy which is a great price. Great alternative to the RZ70 by price.

Unfortunately they are shifting their focus to car audio. They are delegating/transitioning all this to Onkyo. I'm kinda surprised they still have some after the $1500 sale. If this was on your short list, I would grab this while you can!

I would point out the statement on that link since people have made accusations about purchasing these Pioneer units in the past!

"Consumers who have purchased Pioneer-branded audio and home theater products from PAC need not fear the end of this partnership. PAC has committed to continue to provide service and support "for all Pioneer and Pioneer Elite products it has produced and sold during the partnership."!

this has been this price a few days already, at the previous deal would consider it. no independent .4 subs is a negative

This or the 505 for a budget setup with Polk reference speakers.

If you're sticking w/Pioneer, the 805 gives you the option to pay for a Dirac Live Bass Control (DLBC) license whereas the 505 lacks the capability. How many SWs will you be running?

The only real reason to get this is if you NEED 11 channels and NEED all 11 internally powered to 150 watts.

If not, there are many other less expensive options that would pretty much give you the same performance in my experience.

Assuming you're considering this because of Dirac.
I would point to the RZ30, which was just $700 & currently $719 for OB(EE deal).

It pretty much gives you everything this does and would have no problem powering your reference Polk speakers in my experience.

If you're using a subwoofer(s), add DLBC and you have a solid unit. You would still have $800 left over!

I own this unit, bought it during the $1500 sales back In December
Nothing comes close to the power capability on unit at near this price
It shares the amp and power supply on its sister Onkyo RZ70
It is more powerful than many separate amps
Additionally Dirac onboard at no extra charge and bass control optional.
I tested this in my home home along with the Denon x4800 and Marantz Cinema 40.
There was a point where I personally owned all three
This Pioneer was the only one of the three that I kept

"It is more powerful than MANY separate amps"!!!!

Is this opinion speculation or from ownership?

If ownership, what specific models of these MANY amps are you talking about?

Why would it be speculation when one can look up amp bench tests. lol?And again... I have personally owned all three in my own home

** Same amp and power supply parts for the Onkyo..Pioneer and Integra Units**

Onkyo RZ 70 review with bench testing from Audioholics...a well respected public name in the A/V world

Here is another review...though I am not familiar with this person
Says the Pioneer LX805 is the AVR under $5K

So it wasn't "ownership" got it!

That still doesn't answer what specific MANY "external amps" you were talking about!?
