Redditers have received offer for another free BYOD line ID250385. Check your emails and T-Life to see if you qualify.

YMMV. If you qualify, you can add it without changing your plan. This is BYOD only; financing a phone is not recommended and you may lose your free line promotion.

Yes, I qualified for the last free line but didn't attempt it. At the time, people were saying new rules were in place: that if you had free lines already, the system would add the line, but the discount code wouldn't stick. For this reason, I did not risk it. When reps say "wait two billing cycles," that's usually BS, and the line will get charged, which means canceling it or contacting them every month, explaining the situation, and hoping to get the credit, rinse and repeat. Worse, some got plans changed and other things done.I had four original paid lines, and all received the lousy $5 line increase on those. On the old One plan with Plus promo.
Your story is more anecdotal evidence supporting what I've heard in the past: that it's so risky to your current plan getting messed up it's probably not worth accepting a free line with T-Mo even if you are offered one. I pay about $170 per month for 6 voice/data lines, a home line, home Internet, and Netflix w/o ads. While I know others have even better deals, my impression is it would be difficult to find an equivalent or better deal if I switched providers. Is that wrong?

Therefore, I should probably ignore any future free line deals even if I qualify and try never to mess with my account again. Well, am I correct that adding/removing Netflix or Hulu is not risky to one's account/plan settings? I might mess with that someday.

Anything in the app or web site like adding netflix/Hulu etc is fine. The reps are the ones who can screw things up.

for those of you on simple choice, what's the max amount of lines that you could have ?

im maxed out at 10
I'm maxed out at 10 using the app or online to try and add a line but calling customer care in the past they've told me I can do 2 more lines but would have to pay a $250 deposit per line. I share with my parents and it's in their name, they have a 800+ credit score so that has nothing to do with the deposit. Not sure why TMo wants a deposit for a 20+ year customer and we've never had a late payment, it's on auto-ACH each month.

T Force earlier said I wasn't qualified. I called TMobile and they said I was qualified. I didn't add it because I thought they might screw me and create problems later. Anyone else found similar issue?

Same thing here except I followed through with the free line. I'm still waiting for confirmation of the promo.

So my order shipped today and the line showed up in the account. But so far it is not showing any attached Discount IDs in the "Current Promotions" section.
For those who had it show up, how long did it take? I m guessing the discount ID was there as soon as the new line showed up in the account?

thanks

I totally understand how you feel. Back in 2018 I did some Pixel device promos with TM and these clowns will generate a totally random bill every month. And every month I had to hound them to give me a credit, had to waste an hour plus every month to get these idiots to figure out and calculate the right amount. After a while I started filing fcc complaints then some higher up bozo called me and said he will give me one time credit to cover the remaining monthly credits and said that if you dont want this headache then never do any device promo again. I have the BFD discount and their system is very stupid and cant handle that along with the monthly deice promo credits. He flat out admitted that TM is never going to fix their billing system, it is not one of theor priorities. And ever since then I have missed out on all these free phone deals with 24 month credits

To be honest, I dont even dare imagine what a cesspool of a billing system they might have, with all these historical plans and promos, free lines at account level and line level, tax inclusive vs exclusive, etc etc

The funny thing is that even without doing any device promos and no changes to the account, my BFD discount fluctuates every month, it is supposed to be a flat $40 discount but it varies between $32 to $38 each month, so basically TM overcharges ne roughly $100 every year but I gave up on that.

I've been a member since 2013 with Tmo One All In Promo and never had luck getting the free line until today!

I messaged tmo rep and they said I qualified. They're mailing me a SIM card. $10 activation fee required. Cheers!
Which plan? The Tmo One All In with 2 lines paid, 1 free?
