Might be worth waiting. They had these at $200 in November last year. Made domestically, so no tariffs, and inflation has only been 3% the last year.

Old deal for reference: https://slickdeals.net/f/17883609-offers-199-select-1000-mile-styles-with-code-1000miledeal-200-at-wolverine?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Depends where they get their materials but I get what you're saying.

My last pair of Wolverines were almost exactly the same shoe as some I bought at Walmart for $25. They fell apart extremely early. I'll not be buying Wolverine again. Used to be my favorite boot.
This isn't the same type of boot as their work boots. The heritage boots are high quality and this price is decent.

How do these compare to the old Doc Marten Industrial? I've had my pair since 2010. They survived a motorcycle accident and many, many hard winters. The bottom has no tread anymore so I either need them retread or to get new boots.

I hear Doc Marten quality has dropped off a cliff recently, so I'm looking to other companies.

3%? According to the latest BoA report the USD has devalued more than 10% since the beginning of this year.

Doc Martens have horrible quality now. They sold to different Private Equity firm around 10ish years ago and quality has steadily dropped. I've, admittingly, never had a pair of Wolverine 1,000 mile, I do have a few pair of Red Wing Heritage though. From my understanding, the Red Wings are more robust, but Wolverines have more comfort. Its my opinion though, that they are neck and neck and get the ones that look best.

Ah, private equity. Same thing that sunk Red Lobster and countless other companies. Parasites like that shouldn't exist.

I notice these are only in D width. I have monkey toes and prefer the large toe boxes. Wondering how this rates compared to my Brooks running shoes which have *just* enough width in their wide fit. Wide boots seem to be built for people with cankles and tiny toes usually, but Brooks did it right with sneakers.

Guess I'll wait for them to go on further sale like the first post and try them out in store.

If they're good quality and already broken in, resole all day.
