The new Hybrid Jobsite Fan is 40% more powerful than the predecessor model R860720, with impressive air movement speeds of 670 CFM and 1070 FPM. Even with such high-power, the fan maintains quiet noise levels with a decibel level of less than 50 dBA. The hybrid feature on the 18V Hybrid Jobsite Fan allows the fan to run on any RIDGID 18V battery or an extension cord to keep the fan running even longer. Using the integrated extension cord slot, the cord can be tucked flat under the unit while plugged in. For maximum usability and convenience, the fan offers 10 different mounting options. As always, the RIDGID 18V Hybrid Jobsite Fan is 100% compatible with all RIDGID 18V batteries. The included battery is compatible with all RIDGID 18V Tools. Heads up -- this kit seems to have forgotten one very important aspect.
You have a fan. You have a battery. But there ain't a charger for the battery.
You cannot use the fan to charge the battery. However, you CAN plug the fan into the wall -- hence the "hybrid" moniker -- but that's only to use the device. It's powered either by wall power OR the battery. Not both at the same time.
A charger at Home Depot costs $49.97, making this fan cost ~$128. Not such a slick deal.
I have this fan, got it at the same price when the charger was included. It is a treat to be able to power it with battery or wall AC power. I already unalived the first generation of this fan and it was replaced under LSA/warrantied with this model. The 2x4 mounts on the side are the best, attic work or construction work is bearable with a breeze. Now that I have (2) I never have to fight for one.
I got this fan for my son last year. Tool-only version was about $50.
it worked great all day for him with a 6ah battery. If you need it for construction, electrical, or camping, it is a good fan if you are already in the ridgid ecosystem.
Of course, the option to just plug it into 110v around the house enables you to get more use out of it.
