Heads up -- this kit seems to have forgotten one very important aspect.

You have a fan. You have a battery. But there ain't a charger for the battery.

You cannot use the fan to charge the battery. However, you CAN plug the fan into the wall -- hence the "hybrid" moniker -- but that's only to use the device. It's powered either by wall power OR the battery. Not both at the same time.

A charger at Home Depot costs $49.97, making this fan cost ~$128. Not such a slick deal.

I have this fan, got it at the same price when the charger was included. It is a treat to be able to power it with battery or wall AC power. I already unalived the first generation of this fan and it was replaced under LSA/warrantied with this model. The 2x4 mounts on the side are the best, attic work or construction work is bearable with a breeze. Now that I have (2) I never have to fight for one.

I got this fan for my son last year. Tool-only version was about $50.
it worked great all day for him with a 6ah battery. If you need it for construction, electrical, or camping, it is a good fan if you are already in the ridgid ecosystem.

Of course, the option to just plug it into 110v around the house enables you to get more use out of it.

Just a matter of perspective -- if someone is planning on only using this around the house by plugging it in, there are cheaper and better quality fans.
