If you don't need to program it, protoarc makes the same exact mouse as the Ergo and even supports connecting to 3 different devices.

that's a good call. guess I'll see if this is an improvement, mine has lost some of the rubberized texture on the top so it's time.

Doubt it. Maybe some marketing mumbo jumbo about precision tracking or something. I have actually heard the new model isn't made as well and tends to fail faster, so I'll be considering that when it arrives. If I don't like the build quality I'll probably just buy the standard MX Ergo with the Micro-USB and do what @AMurderOfCrows did and add USBC to it.

I have the Protoarc model to keep in my bag for when I need to work away from home. It's nice and definitely great bang for buck, but I feel the MX Ergo has an edge on build quality, and the Protoarc doesn't have rubberized texture so my hands tends to slip while resting.

I also got the protoarc and like it. Was setting up a new working space and needed a keyboard too...my goto is a Logitech ergonomic something like a 510 or something. price on that went up to 150 so I got the protoarc version too and its great! Lifetime Logitech guy, but it feels good telling them (and their always failing mouse buttons) to pound sand...

unless you NEED the extra mouse buttons, I recommend the Kensington Orbit wired or wireless on amazon for half the price. I just got one and love it over a regular mouse, i also think the scroll wheel is better than this one and traditional mouses. its my first trackball ever on a PC and dont see myself going back to a regular mouse

Agreed, I prefer a more trackball-centric form factor for general use. I find symmetrical designs like the Logitech Trackman or Kensington Expert easier on the hands and wrists. I imagine there are specific applications where a more traditional mouse grip with extra buttons and scroll wheel might be more convenient, but I love Kensington's scroll ring.
