Icemaker in the refrigerator compartment instead of the freezer. This will never work right.

I have this fridge. The ice works but my water dispenser doesn't. Had them come out to service it and change a bunch of parts and still don't work properly.

I have a whirlpool fridge which looks exactly like this Kitchenaid and the ice dispenser has worked flawlessly for the past 11 years. Apart from the handles they look identical. Kitchenaid is owned by whirlpool.

I had a KitchenAid that looked just like this for 3 agonizing years and the back froze over every other month requiring defrosting. finally replaced it with a Maytag that did the exact same thing.

they are all crap, I have a brand new Frfigidaire Gallery french door that is 3 months old and i just had a tech (warranty work) come out because water filter that was installed at factory was stuck and would not pop out (faulty release spring) while checking filter issue out he showed me that tower/tunnel on the back was not sealed properly causing ice build up so that needed to be replaced too with a newer/updated part that should be there in the first place since fridge was just manufactured and it was a well known issue before.
Guy told me they are all made to go 8 years max.

This does get better, it's eligible for the spend and save with another $300 off. I had to chat with Costco for the price adjustment because it didn't come off automatically for me.

This one doesn't have the water and ice in the door and should come to $1297.
Kitchenaid is one of the only ones with thin enough doors and low enough clearance to be able to open the door all the way because my refrigerator is against the wall. So I have slim pickings. I definitely get the 5 year warranty.
I went and saw this in person and loved how easily the drawers slid out, and the organization of the freezer drawers with a special slot in front for pizza boxes.

Got this fridge 3 years ago. ice maker and water dispenser work fine. Compressor would make a loud knocking noise whenever it was running. Costco/Whirlpool/kitchenaid had 3 techs come out 3 separate times to fix it. Was eventually told to kick rocks and that the noise is normal.

Not sure if it went away or if I just got used to it. It does the job.

I'd bite this deal, fits in my height restricted 69" height limitation.. but ugh, ice maker in door/refrigerator. HARD PASS.

Would be ok if I could remove it for more storage, but nope.

I don't need ice to live... hell, I'm perfectly fine with ice trays when needed, which isn't often.... or an icemaker below in pull out freezer.

Guess I'll keep my 25yr old Maytag top freezer.
I'm just getting old.. lower shelf, and in back are hard for my knees/back to deal with, so have been looking for a bottom-freezer option, just depressed what's out there.

I came to slickdeals today hoping to hear some random persons life story about a fridge so needless to say I'm happy.

Literally the worst kind of design. My samsung fridge's ice maker is now useless for the same reason.

it's so bad. I now have two Samsung bespoke with ice in the freezer drawer. So much simpler.
