Snagged the last one at the Mechanicsville, Va location. Box was rough, but everything inside was perfect. Can't beat it for $110!

was $180 when I checked my local store. still a good price, but I held off. $110 would have been an insta-buy.

How many pizzas do you have to bake to justify the cost of this thing even at $110?

Quick math - around 9 pizzas vs Delivery. 14 vs carryout.

How many bowls of gruel do you have to eat to justify the cost of a pizza?

FWIW, it had a mediocre review on Palapizza (take it for what it's worth). The reviewer said that it simply gets too hot and there's no real way to cool it down other than turn it off, which makes the cooking too uneven. Odd because most non-name pizza ovens have the opposite problem.

Given that it's 16 inches, I would have jumped on it anyway if I didn't already have one, but for anyone on the fence, worth a read: https://palapizza.com/review/pizz...lackstone/

Thanks, OP!

I actually came across that review when I was doing a quick bit of research before buying. His unit didn't include instructions (can't remember why), so he didn't realize the regulator needed to be adjusted. Other reviewers and even commenters on his video pointed that out. Not sure if this will help anyone out. Hopefully someone found it on clearance in their neck of the woods as well.

That's really useful to know--thank you!

EDIT: I wonder if I can do that on my Sam's Club pizza oven I got on clearance. It doesn't get nearly as hot, but even on the lowest setting the flames usually burn the top before the bottom bakes through.

given the materials cost of each pie being $8 or so on average say, and assuming resturant pizzas are about $20 and a tank of propane is $70. 70+110=180 20-8=12 180/12= very roughly 15 pies you'd need to make to break even with buying pies from a restaurant for simple back of napkin math guesstimation.
