Imagine paying over $500 for a router. And then imagine them hitting you up for a subscription to it lol
While I agree, the subscription covers feature beyond the router/mesh hardware. Ex. Ad Blocking, VPN, Password Manager, Dynamic DNS, Internet Backup. If you don't need these then no problem. They are optional.
I had an Amazon offer for 20% off so I am trading in an old Amazon (2013) Kindle Fire that we never use. For $5 device credit, 20% @ $88 and 2% $9 for delayed delivery.
I got the two pack Eero pro 7 retail $549 for $376 after tax and total. Is this a good deal? I am sure prime day won't be better right? I got one free Eero pro 7 from my cable provider and wanted to do a Mesh network to get 2gigs. I think this is better than buying one Eero Max 7. Buying two Pro 7's I think will result in bigger range for multiple floors of house. When pairing them with current eero pro max 7. This is what others have recommend.

You must be fun at parties.
1Password Family is $50 alone and you can often get a discount on Eero Plus. I've never paid >$49.

I don't understand how anyone even needs a $250 one, let alone $500.
Can't compare to a standalone router. This is 3 of them. I only needed 2 for over 3k sf. A neighbor in 8k sf uses 3. A family member uses 3 in her 1k sf pre-war home.
A standalone barely works in my home and absolutely wouldn't in the other 2.
That said, I'm waiting for $200-$250/Max 7

yeah, for high square footage I can see it more. I'd say it would have to be probably something like 2400 sf before anything above a low level one would be needed, though. My router broke from a power outage and I just found a very old one packed away in a box and it's working very well. lol. Only thing is DL speeds are very bad at around 40mbps from the wifi. But I haven't really downloaded much, so just dealing with it until I find something good enough for $100.

note: pick up in store seems to work only, shipping orders seems to get cancelled

It worked for me using pick-up in store. I just picked it up yesterday.
