Zojirushi has two product lines. This one, cheaper and lower quality, made in China and a more expensive higher quality product made in Japan.

This is the made in China version if anyone is wondering. The 5 1/2 cup made in Japan version is on sale for $193. I bought that one in 2012 and it has been rock solid.

Hidden in the product info: "BPA-Free Non-Stick Pan"

Not ideal, as it will eventually wear out.

Many, many years if you take care of it and don't scrape it with metal utensils.

Most of these have a nonstick lining, making it easier to get the rice out and easier to clean
Had multiple in the family for years and none wear out unless you purposely use something abrasive to clean or use metal to scoop the rice out
They all come with a plastic spatula.. So it's soft rice and plastic spatula, which of those would cause it to wear out in regular use?

Ahhh ok I feel like an idiot for my comment. I'm sorry about that. I'm just used to trolls taking over Slickdeals, I didn't realize it was a real comment. Sorry about that

Is this real life? Paying well over $100 for a rice cooker??? Is this AI? How does that even make sense?

Yeah, this is real life and not a deal IMHO. We almost bought one from Kohls because we didn't want to pay well over $100 for a rice cooker, either. But then seen a SD post about a month or so ago for the Tiger 5.5-Cup Micom Rice Cooker (JBV-S10U), $79 from Costco. It's made in Japan and very similar to this Zojirushi. We have no regrets.

Set an alert, might come come back!

Edit: BTW, the reason I said this is not a deal is because this same model was recently available for $88.19 from Target See this SD post

I bought that one but it is smaller model NS-WAC10. I think it's 5.5 cup (or 5). This one is larger, NS-WAC18.

I've been using a cheap $20, 3-cup rice cooker for years. I thought it was ok but what I didn't know is I've been eating crappy steam rice all these years. It becomes clear when I got a real rice cooker. I'm pleasantly surprised by the consistent result Zojirushi gives me, a perfectly cooked rice. I've never had a rice cooker that maintains heat AFTER it's unplugged. Rice is still warm (not hot but warm) after more than 5 hours.

I'm 11 years in with a different model that has a BPA-free, nonstick interior, and hasn't had any issues with flaking or wearing out.

Ah, I totally missed that this is the larger model. Not a bad deal then for the 10-cup model.
