Thanks SD! Ordered one since our current rice cooker (Zojirushi NS-YAC18) is about 11 years 4 months old. This newer induction heating should cook rice faster than the old models?

Best rice cooker, but 5 cup model is more realistic for most people.

I've been cooking rice in our pressure cooker and have never been really happy with the results. Do I need another expensive cooking appliance? Probably not. Did I order one anyway? You're damn right I did.

Reality check. Good quality and all but this is an utterly ridiculous price for this appliance.

They probably stopped making these old models.

The newer models don't have a handle

I'm buying one before they sold out these

13 left after I buy one

my wife wants me to replace our Z with something that doesnt use non-stick pot and I have tried looking 3rd party pots but they dont fit our model. Are there name brands Japanese rice cookers without non-stick pot?

I have a Tiger IC rice cooker. The speed difference is pretty negligible, except for when I'm doing quick rice. Using the quick rice setting means I forgot and scrambling to get rice done quickly so even a few minutes faster is nice. Saving a few minutes on a normal ~1hr cook is just not very meaningful.
