Probably have too many pencils and are trying to dump them on ITC members who buy the cheapest thing in the store to get the 5 gallon billboard for HF.

So I'm basically paying $30 to give Harbor Freight free advertising wherever I use this bucket?

Please tell me you don't wear clothes with logos on them. At least the bucket is free if you need $30+ worth of tools anyway. I don't think anyone in their right mind is going to HF to spend $30 on stuff they don't need just to get a bucket. Besides, every store sells buckets with their logo on it.

I have 5 gallon buckets in my backyard. Free and the best part, I will include some of my dog's political donations.
are those political donations or campaign promises, because currently all of those have been dog crap.

Well, they run these deals constantly now, so yeah, they do make for a pretty good deal if you have a convenient HF to stop by or need to buy other stuff.
I think last weekend was free tarps, magnet strips, and some other stuff. Before that they had passable ratchet straps for free... amd I've gotten several moving blankets as well.
I just stop in when i'm at the grocery store nearby and grab consumables I might need. Their superglue tubes are handy for instance, or something like zip ties or whatever.

Home Depot, Lowe's and now Costco sells these (the Costco ones are 3 for $10), the others hover around the $4 or $5 range. Funny part is my local donut shop sells used ones (that came with apple fritter filling, or other assorted ingredients) for the same price ($4 to $5).
If you are an ITC member and it's any purchase, they have those Exacto knives in boxes by the register for like $.89 if you really want to save yourself from another HF impulse buy.

Actually yeah, I intentionally avoid buying clothes with large logos. Most you will get from me is something like a small "Patagonia" on the chest of my jacket in a subtle color.
That being said, it is a bucket. Who cares. Of course the free and/or dirt cheap ones have advertising.

My "Harbor Freight" alert I just wet up went off and I was hoping it was one of their 20% coupons since I want to buy one of their Apache cases. Anyone know how often the 20% coupons come around? I'm in no rush.

Those Apache cases are the best thing about HF.
