PROs:
- sound from the speakers is great compared to other tablets
- build quality is nice, the stand especially is very useful
CONs:
- the Helio G99 processor is on the slow side and not because of gaming but just for loading pages.
- Display is on the dim side too at 400 nits
- because of the speakers, the back is not flat so cases for it is very limited
- also because of the useful stand, a compatble case will be flimsy and definitely will not last
Overall, I would spend more for a better tablet with a better processor and nicer screen.
What's the point of better hardware when they only promise two OS upgrades and four years of security patches?.
Why are you people so obsessed with OS upgrades? Are we really pretending that there's some huge difference in usability between OS editions when it's just a tablet?

Yes, the screen could be brighter and processor could be faster. But honestly as someone who owns it and MANY much more expensive flagship as well as budget devices, they are way better than you'd expect for a $200 tablet. The screen is more than decent for indoor use, and the processor makes lightweight use (social media, web browsing, video watching) pretty snappy and not at all stuttery.
In summary, skip this if you want it for heavy outdoors use or heavy gaming. But for media consumption, I strongly doubt you'll find something better for under $600. I'll take a dimmer screen and weaker processor for those incredible speakers and ultra practical kickstand any day of the week. And no, kickstand cases are nowhere near as good replacement. I've owned many, and nothing gets close.

They are concerned about security updates partly.
