Solid deal on the Winix 5510, which includes the upgraded PlasmaWave tech + a true HEPA filter + washable pre-filter and activated carbon filter. Essentially a beefed-up version of the popular 5500-2.
I've been using the 5500-2 for a few years—great for allergies, smoke, and general air quality. Picked up a 5510 during Prime Day and just grabbed 2 more now at this price for the basement and kids' rooms. Quieter than expected on lower settings and auto mode is pretty responsive.

With my unit, I like to use it as a remote. I also have set a timer to kick the fan speed up for when I leave my office to go back home, so the air is more fresh when I get there.

Are the filters for this model still super expensive? 5500-2 were much cheaper when I bought mine about a year ago.

Edit: Genuine filters are $50 on sale. The 5500-2 filters are typically like $35.

Yes, saw that the filters for the 5510 are on sale for $49.99. I don't need to buy it yet. But I did buy the 5500-2 filter as it's on sale right now: https://www.amazon.com/Winix-Comp...B01JLT1OR8 I rather buy the original than any of the compatibles which are pretty much the same price or more now.

Never heard about the Trio air purifier. If you're a Costco member, I see people raving about this Winix product on Reddit all the time and it's on sale for $99.99: https://www.costco.com/p/-/winix-...4000295784

The fans in this brand of air purifier certainly are not the best as far as the bearings wearing out prematurely

It's completely irrelevant how much filters cost. I've never had to replace a filter in an air purifier. You just clean them out.
Lol whatever you say. If you aren't replacing the filter at least once a year, you're just wasting electricity and likely filtering nothing.

Does the wifi still disconnect on these every few months like on the 535?

While I agree you should replace filters annually, he's still filtering something, just at a reduced efficiency.

I haven't had any issues on the app connecting with either the 5510 I bought on Amazon and the C610 I bought at Costco.

Really? Haven't had any issues yet. Had a Levoit unit previously that vibrated when on a high fan speed.
