The Military EXCHANGE / Army and Air Force Exchange Service has a link with Home Depot I just learned about where you can get stuff tax free (veterans only). I ordered a Mini shipped for $299 without tax.
Also as a note for awareness, the ROAM subscription plan needed for these is like $150-$170 per month.

I just made a purchase a few days ago from the Home Depot exchange link and it had the 10% off and no sales tax.

Normal 10% Home Depot veterans discount didn't work with this item.You can use any plan with the Mini, including the $5 slow / standby tier.
The "standby" option just replaces the ability to put service on hold, and it's what.... 0.5GB ? Barely enough for text messages and basic emails. I don't quite count that as a realistic plan to keep this on.
