This is a really good deal. The Zero Grands are comfortable, look good, and they last long. They're regularly still $200+, and these are $80. Slick for sure.

Same price at Nordstrom Rack. Better price at Men's Warehouse. Some of these go for $50 there. I have the receipt.

Zero Grands take forever for me to break in. Maybe my dress socks are too thin but I always get awful blisters on my Achilles for the first couple months of wear each time.

Anything you'd suggest for a dress shoe that you can actually put a lot of steps in? I occasionally have to run around conventions/trade-shows in a suit and I was looking at CH for what appeared to be that mix.

Cole Haan quality is not trash. They have trash quality models and good quality models. I just don't know which one is which hut the one I got for $100 on sale, white casual shoes, I don't know the model name, from Cole Haan outlet, wore it for 3 different overseas trips they are one of the most comfortable shoes I ever wore and they don't look like sneakers although they are white.

I like Alden but Brooks Brothers should not do you wrong.

There are probably others but you may wish to consider Blake stitch or Goodyear welt. Other than that find a good reputation shoe maker in your area and go to a retail store and get full fitting. I personally like Alden but they are expensive and the fit changes by shoe/last type. I may be tempted with NPS produced Solovair.

I have to agree with poor quality. I got a pair of dress oxfords last year and the "leather" upper started to look bad pretty quickly (couple of months). I didn't check beforehand, but saw it was labeled "genuine leather" which is, ironically, not really leather. I'm not sure if they have other shoes that are better, but that was my experience.
