yes, your will need to pay for a plan for at least 2 months to satisfy the 60 days of active service requirement to have the phone unlocked. cheapest plan is $35/month.

Wait till Thanks Giving, Walmart usually put previous year's iPhone Verizon/ATT pospaid phones on sale...this year expect IP16 for $399 range...and you can payoff and unlock with in 60 days.

Last year the deal was $199 (5.53/month for 36 months) for iPhone 13 if you can get one.

I guess if you're with AT&T for 36 months it's $8.31/month. If you want to payoff then we have to pay full price $879. If you click on the above link and you will see one more link under rectangular AT&T button with payment options. There you can see the table stating that full price is $879. If anyone tried by paying off $299 in recent days please let us know here.

Ive done the Samsung deals where you can unlock immediately by swapping the phone with another unlocked phone then requesting to unlock the new phone.

Does that trick work for iPhones?
