First time looking for an SSD and wondered the same - Samsung Magician software can confirm this -- but it seems some fakes can pass the test. Perhaps calling Samsung with the S/N or some data points of the drive can confirm this.

I just bought a Samsung SSD on ebay, and Samsung Magician showed that it was counterfeit, and that the smart data showed a bad drive. I won't buy used again.

File a "not as described" complaint with eBay and the sender will have to take it back, refund your money and pay for the shipping back to him. If he refuses to comply, eBay will do it for him.

Any 2280 size heatsink will work

Edit: Personally I also leave the PS5 SSD plate/door uninstalled for better airflow.

I bought 4 of the these at the $42 deal. Two were new sealed from Samsung 0 hours 0 power on. One had been power on 3 times 0 hours and one was power on 16 times 1 hour.
2TB Samsung Pro -Box destroyed but 0/0 brand new and a 2 TB Samsung Pro with HS 0/0 brand new in Samsung sealed box. WDC 2 TB SN850X also 0/0 new. The 2TB's were all $79
