Cleaning: the main core of the machine has to be cleaned every couple weeks or the grinder parts will jam up and start making really weak coffee. It will mold like mad if you go too long without cleaning the core!
Overall the coffee this thing makes is weaker than I like even when I just do a double espresso its weaker than it should be.
This is the best BNIB price I've seen for such ever.
3200/3300 internals/brew-group are the same as the pricier 4400/4500, 5400/5500 units.

I am a big coffee drinker and have this machine at home. First, this doesn't make proper espresso. It seems to produce some crema but the espresso is not rich and flavorful. I've played with the settles and let the grinder "break in" and all that. Regardless of how I adjust the ratios, I get either sour or bitter espresso, and no rich espresso. I've dialed it to the point where it's just on the edge of bitterness, but as soon as you add milk, it becomes nearly tasteless - the espresso shot is just very shallow in flavor. Because it can't pull anything that resembles a proper espresso shot, it can't make anything that resembles a good latte or cappuccino. Plus the drinks are tiny. Tiny flavorless boring drinks. So despite its features, I use it primarily to make Americanos these days. It's slightly better than drip coffee, and it's very convenient. "Two coffee" drinks gets me somewhere close to one standard cup of coffee. It's drinkable.The machine does take a while to start behaving consistently. I don't know why it is, but it is. At the start, it will grind too little beans and the pucks will be small and watery. After a few weeks of use, it settles down and starts producing full firm pucks after each brew. So if your initial drinks look terrible, have some patience. Brew through a 2-pound bag of cheap beans to break it in. And then see what you get after that.
I agree what you said on espresso part, it doesn't pull like commercial espresso machines. I fully understand its limit and expected it to be good enough to make me a cappuccino every morning without spending time to make one manually. From time saving perspective, I think it's worth it.
In terms of usability, both units are the same except the 3200 has the fully automatic milk frother for latte/capuchino etc.
The only thing I didn't like on the 800 is all plasticity look ..no chrome or metal anywhere...its just black plastic all over. The 3200 has stainless steel components and gives a more upscale look. Still doesnt come close to Delongi but at $400, still a good looking machine.
After my own research on automatics, I bought cheap whole beans from Costco and ran it at default grind settings for 20 cups. The Philips machines take time to learn your brew hence some bad reviews on Reddit/Costco cos people don't have patience to learn the system and want Starbucks quality right out of the box.
After 20 cups, dial the grinder down to like 1-3 setting (fine grind). And u need to do this WHILE the beans are being ground. At fine setting, med water, the machine makes a nice cup of Joe. I use the La Cerema beans from amazon . By this time, u should be getting nicely formed pucks as well in the waste bin.

The froth maker is nice but I usually use my separate froth maker. On the 3200, u CANNOT make froth separately on its own unlike the 800 series. There's a hack to do it (switch to manual ground but dont put anything in the bin, use cappuchino mode, wait for the milk to froth and right before it dispenses coffee, stop it.
But other than this, it's a very nice machine for the discounted price. I don't think u can get anything better at $400. My inlaws have the Delongi which is one step above (both in looks and makes more coffee per grind) but it's currently around $649 which is outside my cheap budget..lol. If u can squeeze it, get the DeLongi but if u like me and only get stuff at discounted prices , the 3200 is a very capable automatic.
I buy all my appliances/electronics from Costco cos of their gracious return policy and not to mention these machines are complicated and at some point, the electronics will start to fail.
