I am a dentist in the midwest, annnnnnnd i participated in the study to get this product some certifications. So i both have expertise and I was part of a double blind study. Its good, just as good as more expensive options. That said most water flossers on the market are effective at what they do. They do not replace flossing, however given that I am fully aware the general public doesnt floss, buy this, Throw it in the shower and use it while your standing there. It is better than nothing. This is of course coming from the most skeptical and cynical dentist i know, I dont even think toothpaste is all that important ( the literature supports my opinion). So. there you go. Great deal, buy it, but more important actually use it.

These are disposable (as is most crap from china).

Batteries last about 6 months before needing to be recharged more often than about once a week.

I bought one of these full price and have been using it twice a day since August, works great so far. Just ordered a 2nd one since the water tank could be a bit bigger (i have braces) so 2 will be perfect, thank you.

Have one of these with a different brands and they all work the same way and as well as the pik brand. Use it twice and day and don't see the battery duration deteriorate. But I am sure one day it will... but for 10 bucks, whatever. But yes, it literally operates the same way as the $80 one, so don't need to spend a fortune. The thing about portable one is that it will be hard to clean the lower jaw teeth just because you will have to tilt your head down slightly. Otherwise the straw is not able to suck the water from the top of the reservoir. Just be mindful of that

Toothpaste is not important, so your advice not to brush teeth? Or just brush with water?
