Just a heads up. When entering personal info on order, do not capitalize your first or last name. I read about this from another thread and it seems to work at keeping their security system from raising false security flags. Also used chrome incognito and VPN. Order went thru without a hitch.

I want to remind everyone that there is no need to port in a number for this deal. Slickdeals staff replaced my original post with their own that states a port is required. SD staff is wrong on this.

Out of stock on the website, maybe if you go to a store and they have the phone in stock, however they overprice those deals always, so expect to pay around $300 for it. Which is not worth it IMO. Deal is dead.

I wanted to know the answer to this question too but no one with the knowledge answered yet. So, I asked ChatGPT and this is what it said:
-------------------
šŸ”“ 2ļøāƒ£ Unlocking & network restriction
•
• Metro by T-Mobile locks the phone to their network for 12 months.
• During that time, the phone can only use T-Mobile-network SIMs, including Metro and T-Mobile itself.
āœ… Good news:
Because T-Mobile and Metro share the same network and SIM compatibility, your T-Mobile pSIM will work fine right away — no unlock required.
You'll still be locked to the T-Mobile network (so no AT&T, Verizon, etc.), but for your own T-Mobile pSIM, it's totally okay.
------------------
My phone is estimated to arrive Thursday (although I selected free 2-3 delivery). I will see if it will work. It would be great if works like ChatGPT said. If not, I will have to wait 2 months to unlock the Moto G Stylus 5G 2024 from Total Wireless. I just need a newer phone to upgrade from my old iPhone 7 Yes, there are still people with older phone. In fact, I saw someone at the farmer market yesterday with an even older phone than mine. I couldn't believe my eyes that someone still used an iPhone even older than mine.
I am on infimobile in T-Mobile network. Can I use my phone without unlock?

I tried to complete the order online, but it was stuck with a spinning circle that never back, after the address verification.

The online chat provided no help, since i was just a limited bot.

I entered the order over the phone, but the procedure tool almost an hour. There was one time that the representative did not come back for ~15 minutes. He told me there was a problem with their system, which is probably the same issue I was having trying to complete the order online, so if you run into the same problem, you may just want to wait a little while.

Like most of you, I plan to turn off, autopay, and put the phone in the drawer for the next year. Does anyone know if it will cause any problem, if I try to transfer out the number during that first month? I do not have any experience with eSIM, only physical SIMs.

This seems like a really good deal considering it does not require porting in a number.
I'm quoting my own post, but I went to the Cricket site to see the current deal on the Samsung FE, expecting to use this new number to port in. I noticed they also have this RAZR 2024 for $99, no port in required. That would be ~$140 for me, adding a Supreme line to my Core account. If I went that route, I would be able to use it immediately, and would also be unlocked after the same year.

For me, that would be worth the extra, but I'm keeping the one on order, since I wasted an hour on the phone, even though that is a terrible reason.

It is an eSim. Do not erase it before auto unlock, otherwise it will never unlock. Auto unlock works fine when connected to WiFi after one year wait.
Damn for my iPhone 13 I got a couple of months back, I had to reset network settings and remove esim because I couldn't get MKSD ULTRA to work. What should I do? Do I have to call Metro to manually unlock once it's been a year?

I want this but after the Moto Edge Plus 2023, I'm not sure I'd want to have 2 "fun" devices. I'd rather just get the iPhone 14 for $99+$55 since I can trade it in to Apple later. Anyone else not sure what they'd do with multiple "fun" phones?
I have a whole drawer of fun phones. I give them to my kids or elder dad when they break their phones

Well, not everyone will use it as primary phone. This still can be used with wifi or hotspot. It's free phone so why not. You're basically paying for the plan.
