This Metro Razr 2024 deal is mainly about a cheap foldable with a one year Metro lock and eSIM activation. The strongest upside is the price, with multiple orders going through around $65 or even $35 for a second line, and the phone can be used on Wi Fi or as a secondary device while waiting. Community testing also points to a possible unlock path on some Android 14 units, especially older November 2024 builds. The main catches are frequent stock and checkout failures, plus many reports that newer Android 15 or March 2025 units stay locked or hit server errors. A good fit if you are comfortable with the wait and the activation hassle.

My understanding is that any A14 firmware should work
(Downgrading to A14 went smoothly.)
I saw people mentioning that even just requesting the bootloader key is enough for voiding the Motorola warranty. Is that correct?

Please let us know when you find the correct version. I got 4 phones but could only unlock one for now.

I unlocked the bootloader on my March 2025 security update a14 phone and downgraded it to the January patch (used the RETAIL version of the firmware) and was still unable to carrier unlock. It's getting late, but I'll try again with a different version later.
1. Download the Moto unlock tools
2. In developer settings enable ADP
3. Once the phone is connected to the computer (usb and file transfer mode), launch the app, turn off the metro PCS sim and wifi.
4. Click Unlock (which opens up screenshare on you computer (u can make it bigger by putting 980 on the max size,
5. Internet sharing - Click Ok on the Connection Request for Gnirehtet, Also clicking Turn on WIFI and you should see connections in that ghir box
6. Click Open Metro unlock app (WiFi is ON at this point)
7. Click Phone Permanent Unlock then reboot, double check unlock status in about phone
The Moto unlock tools are downloaded from here: https://xdaforums.com/t/how-unloc...t-90088027
What happened to me was that in Step 7 there was no "phone permanent unlock". After Step 6, my screen just showed "LOCKED" with some 180 day eligibility policy language below it. That was the end.
I wonder if this was due to the fact that I already activated the phone with Metro esim on it.

how do you"click the Reset Metro App" I tried unlocking my phone last week and it didnt work. Now I dont see the Permanent option any more even a week later.
I tried going into airplane mode but it just asks for an internet connection and still get teh 180 day screen.
