It shows up as $695 for me. Too bad that I do not need all the bells and whistles of this setup...at least not for this price. The price is excellent, but I only need middle-range quality ATMOS 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 at the $300 price range. So was looking for open-box/refurbish deals. COSTCO has for $250 (same as Best Buy AX5140 $379) the Hisense AX700 that suits me.

Going back and forth on buying this for a week. Everything says it's a fantastic product for $1,000 - $1,500 so at $700 feels like I have no reason not to buy.

I wasn't originally think spending $700, more like 400 - 500. This just seems like a really good deal on what I'm understanding to be one of the better sounbar set-ups.
We mostly stream, but I do enjoy watching on disc every so often. Recently watched Avengers with the kids and the improved sound over streaming was very noticeable, so I understand the drop off. We just don't buy movies like we used to.
I feel like this satisfies my wants as a good sounding system while decluttering my set-up. I think I'd rather spend a little more and not be disappointed when giving up on my original setup. I'm just nervous with Samsung's poor return period.
Completely understand.

I was just providing information regarding your curiosity about Atmos on a soundbar.

TBH it's more a selling point, you're paying more for the convenience than actual "Atmos" performance.

I'll point out for others that you don't need Atmos on a traditional setup, a 5.1 setup will easily surpass 4k streaming audio.

That's called fraud
That's a reckless claim to make publicly. You're throwing around "fraud" like it's just another insult, but it's a criminal charge, not a buzzword for "someone who did something I don't like." Fraud means intentionally lying for personal gain — none of which happened here. Everything I did was transparent, documented, and handled through Samsung's official resolution process.

Calling legitimate consumer advocacy "fraud" doesn't expose wrongdoing — it exposes that you have no idea how consumer protection actually works. Complaints through the BBB, FTC, or AG offices are standard legal channels, not loopholes. Companies resolve those cases because they're valid, not because they've been "tricked."

So before you start tossing around criminal accusations in public, learn what the words you're using mean. Words mean things — use them responsibly.
