Good price. Shop vac is convenient because it's portable, but suction isn't that great. It's good for sawdust. No regrets buying it though.

It's full price here. If I went into my local store and pull up the app with the 08050 zip code, would HD match it?
Or would Lowes if they saw the app?

Agreed! This model was released ~12 years ago, and the competition has overtaken it in the meantime. I got the DCV581H (same as this one but with hybrid 110V power) back in 2014 and sold it last year after a decade of meh.

In case anyone is interested... I replaced the DeWalt with a RIDGID HD0318 which is a similar physical size, but 3-gallon capacity rather than 2, has a neat dustpan feature, takes bags without modification, and has well over twice the airflow (76 CFM vs 33.55 CFM). I use it with a 4Ah compact DeWalt battery via an Amazon DeWalt to RIDGID adapter. The RIDGID is $129 and rarely goes on sale, and it comes with a fine-dust (blue), rather than a HEPA filter. However, even once you add a HEPA filter ($20) and a DeWalt adapter ($20), you still pay less $ per CFM than this deal!

Someone cautioned me on using non-Dewalt tools with battery adapters and Dewalt batteries, since their batteries do not have the capacity protection.

It's true that DeWalt tools (rather than the batteries) have the low-voltage protection so this isn't present when using DeWalt batteries with non-DeWalt tools. The overcurrent surge protection is in the batteries (basically nickel strips that melt at high current), and newer batteries also have some battery management. But, point taken, the batteries could completely discharge if you don't monitor them.

I agree, but I WILL say that it's still quite useful at times, especially given the HEPA filter that's washable/reusable and wet+dry. (I think that's the stock filter, but I could be wrong).
It's not a very powerful vacuum, but it's handy if you're already doing DeWalt. (I have the version that can also run on 120VAC, and it's not significantly better when plugged in.
I will say - careful buying aftermarket hoses; some really restrict the flow.

I feel similarly. It's probably not worth it if you're not already on DeWalt, but it's definitely HANDY to have.
And, at least my filter is washable, HEPA, and wet/dry, which is nice

Awesome vac if you ask me, portability makes it great for any work round the house where you don't want a big shop vac or to destroy the normal vacuum. Fairly good for the car also. Lasts longer than you'll use it with an 8Ah battery. Agree with everyone else that it's old and it shows - louder than my DEWALT shop vac and half the suction.
