That's a storage or transit problem (seen two high of a temp that start the process of oil separating from emulsion). Luckily there's an easy fix. Pop it into an oven on bread proof for about 10-15 min then mix it back together well. It will re-set to the gooey state

Anyone know how this compares, $/oz, against the Costco 2-pack?

My biggest concern with a container this size will be that it will dry out and become rubbery before I get halfway through it. I'd rather stick to the smaller jars for that reason.

i never realized how disgusting this stuff is until i put it in the fridge and i saw all the oil seperate from the sugar (there is barely any chocolate taste in this) is purely sugar and oil. hazelnut doesnt even exist in this spread.

The drying out happens because after you break the factory seal it's
not airtight anymore, so you have 2 easy options:

Put some plastic wrap on the top of the jar and then put the screw-on plastic lid or put the whole bottle inside a large zip-lock, both will prevent it from drying out.
