It's true, these cables are obsolete now so they have to get rid of them

That being said they are good cables, when I used them they never failed.

Would they charge an iPhone 13 Pro Max at max charging speed or are they too slow?

I have a power bank that has usb-C and usb-A and I need both type of cables.

Thanks for any insight.

You need a PD cable for that. This is slower.

This cable will max out at 12W. Not the highest that 13 pro max can use, that is 27W (correct me if I am wrong). While it is not the fastest, it will be still decent.

Thanks for that info. I'd rather pay full price than for a more capable cable. Thanks you

How do you know if these aren't fake? What about like those fake cables that might transfer malware. Is there a concern with buying cables like this on amazon?

I don't think you need to worry about buying a charging cable that would transfer malware. Transfer it from where to where? You control both ends. If you ever plug into a malicious cable (like at a public charging station), your phone will let you know if the cable is trying to communicate. Just say no, or better yet, unplug.

You're worried about getting fake AmazonBasics cables on... Amazon?

Amazon acquired Woot in 2010.

Well if you use the cable to just charge your phone to the wall, there isn't an issue if that cable contains malware? I read that is possible but expensive because those cables aren't cheap. Now isn't this different if you charge your phone to your laptop then if that cable has malware?

You are more likely to get a good Amazon cable from Woot! than good advice from anonymous randos on a deal forum. Take those odds.

The theoretical is they implant a device in the cable that acts like a keyboard or has some other payload, but this is far fetched spy craft stuff. They aren't going to be planting 200 dollar cables to steal from lightning users when more lucrative usb users exist now.

At a certain point you can't trust any cable by that theory, so just buy a wireless charger.

Anyways, the lisen pack is more adaptable but likely more fragile for this use.
