I bought this for the same purpose but ended up returning it as the video seemed choppy all the time. Tried adjusting every setting I could find but ultimately couldn't get to run smoothly and went back to my other one which surprisingly was just an older version of this

Are you asking what people use a computer for?

I have been waiting for something like this to Run Pfsense and Home assistant. Price and specs are great.. Too bad it has only one NIC. Does someone has an affordable alternative with 2/4 Ethernet ports (preferred 2.5GB)

Thank you, I changed my search and am leaning towards: https://www.amazon.com/Upgraded-F...B0FCY3CFW7
Giving 4x 2.5gb on a good intel controller. No Storage or memory, but I have that laying around.
Looks well build with mem and storage.
I have one looks exactly the same as the first link but with N100. It is my main router/firewall device now. It works great, but generates tons of heat. I had to buy USB powered fan to constantly blowing at it to keep the temp in check. I think maybe those with plastic enclosure but with an internal fan may better suit my need.

I appreciate that feedback. I thought the big hunk of aluminum heatsink would be able to dissipate the 15 watts that the CPUs are rated for.

Is this a good option to replace my really old (no longer supported HP s5-1224) PC? All I need is something basic for light home office use (not a gamer or huge downloader). Thank you!

I just bought one of these a few days ago after it was listed on Slickdeals. It's an attractive little box and works without any apparent flaws. There were major updates to Win 11 after hooking it up and they were painfully slow (like start them and then go out for dinner and a movie). The BIOS is about as barebones as they come and the ram, SATA ssd, and wifi / bluetooth module are probably the cheapest Chinese stuff they could source (I haven't opened it up to check yet}. Once the updates were completed it boots relatively fast and has been fine for web surfing and emails, etc. Certainly adequate for a relative with very basic needs. It remains to be seen how well this will hold up over time.
If anyone knows if you can swap the SATA ssd with an NVME ssd please advise. That and better ram would probably make a big difference in speed of operation.

This is perfect for those of us who want to share every keystroke with the CCP!! It's so convenient! My personal info gets uploaded and sent straight to Beijing without me needing to do anything!
If you phrased this as a question instead of an assumption, you would sound logical instead of racist. It's actually a valid concern. Some of these cheap boxes have been found to have BIOS modifications that indeed allow outside access. But assuming it's the case is not cool. I'm hoping someone here has some insight.

Looking for something that can emulate PS2 games and run streaming shows at 1080p does this fit the bill?
