Thanks for your help. I upped my budget and found a glass-top desk for $140 with a drawer, the cheapest on amazon. I don't trust the particle board in these cheaper desks to not chip, distort, or look like shi quickly.

I like glass tops and drawer esp the tresanti one from Costco but was concerned abt clamping monitor mount. I think I've been looking for adjustable desk for like 2 yrs now!! Lol

This is crazy good. You can slap these mechanisms on existing desks by drilling them into the tops. We did this at our office with our existing table tops and it's been working great!

The mechanism alone is worth the price IMO!

In for one. I need this to add as a side "L" to my PC workstation. It is the perfect size and allows me to keep much-used hardware like my custom PC case, Logitech 5.1 Volume/Source Controller, and Shure Microphone/Desk Stand. It will match the current height of my black desk and will look amazing. Lastly, there appear to be headphone hooks, which is another plus to hang my wireless Xbox headset.

I use a triple motor L-shaped desk & it throws a desync error every time I use it (prob distribution of weight). Really annoying to have to reset it every time, but hopefully that changes when I redo my desk layout. I could see that happening for dual motors.
If you have one specific desk that's not functioning correctly, you can't necessarily blame the underlying technology. Likewise, if I bought a random cheap NVME drive and it becomes corrupted in the first month I can't really use that as evidence that NVME technology is faulty. I've seen an overall higher rate of failure in single motor designs, but any mechanical implement can fail in the right circumstances. I have at least 20 motorized desks in use in my business, the majority of them are dual motor Uplift brand. We never have any synchronization issues and we use them daily. You should try a hard reset procedure (which might consist of a more involved process like lowering the desk to its bottom position, holding a combination of buttons, etc) and see if it can remedy the fact that your desk keeps getting desynced, although this is highly dependent on the brand of desk so YMMV.

Single motor are fine in many applications but there are inherent laws of physics at play that a single motor design simply cannot account for. The leverage of having a particularly heavy item on the side of the desk opposite of the motor would mean more leverage and load against the motor, and this additional stress is transferred through the frame to get to the motor. Single motor designs may never get out of sync, but they are more likely to wear down over time as a result of asymmetrical loading stresses and you'll have a higher likelihood of complete failure compared to dual motor designs.
