Why would anyone use this when Bitwarden is free?

It's a good deal, for the first year. New users just know if you get hooked, $60 a year after.

Lastpass is just easier to use than the alternatives.
Sure, but they actually have been breached. Here's their page about what they're doing better now.

I don't use any of the password manager, not even Bitwarden. Why? You are telling the bad guys, here is my vault, come get it. Not me.

For my unimportant stuff, I just use Google Password Manager on the website, I use Samsung Pass on my phone.

For my VIP things I use Yubikey. I have it duplicate on 3 keys, my favorite is using TOTP using the NFC (touch always enable) on it.

These are my 2 cents.
I get this reasoning and then realize unless you're Zuck or very high profile I doubt you're going to get hacked. Look we use Yubikey at work too but it's also less convenient.

I'm sure I should be terrified but I'm not.

That's cool. Just my preference to not ignore that and go with a different password manager.

1password is trash. Used to love the product, but dropped it once they blocked users from hosting their own vault (and pushed their own cloud). No thanks.

Tried it, it's just not as convenient as LastPass.
You can bash it all you want and talk down to people who use it but I seriously don't care.
You've seen one too many hacker movies.
Hacker movies, seriously. After the security incidents, why would you trust them. There are much better options out there, like Bitwarden. Switching can be easier done in minutes.

I still haven't changed my Plex password since they were hacked.

I've tried it before and thought the user interface was clunky.
I will probably go my entire life and never lose $1 from hacking.

Unless you can somehow export your passwords, you're gonna end up filling up a library of passwords and then you're either stuck paying the renewal price or losing them all when your subscription ends.

These are my 2 cents.

99.99% of the people that do this end up reusing passwords across websites and/or storing them insecurely (e.g. underside of their keyboard), which is about the worst thing you can do.

For places that still require passwords: how are you (a) ensuring they're different across websites (b) protected from data loss and (c) encrypted at rest?

I use Bitwarden because it's cheaper, but I have used 1Password for work and I do think it's better. The main reason I would consider it for a family plan is ease of use; if you're trying to get your parents to use a password manager, then you need to make it simple for them. I have had some issues getting my parents to figure out Bitwarden.

Same. If it were just me I probably would go with Bitwarden.
