Thanks OP! It's a targeted deal so you have to be logged into your circle account for the coupon to appear. My coupon was $15 off $75 instead of $5 off $40.

Yeah, it's not specific to TMobile. Mine was $20 off $90.

Logged in to my Target Circle account, tried adding all denominations of the T-Mobile prepaid card, the only discount showing is the 5% Target Circle card, nothing else.

Logged into Target on web and had a $10 off $50 and a 20% off. Neither would apply, I phoned them and was told "gift cards are excluded". Does another approach work?

You have to be a Target Circle member. It's free to join, so while it's easy to sign up, I'm not sure you'll get the $5 off if you're a new member, but it can't hurt to try.
