off grid solar, house batteries for rv, camper, boat. If you've got 12 V devices you can run that directly from the battery without any inverter which is nice.
I have a power station but its internal battery is a 48 V, so when I run 12 V things you lose some efficiency stepping it down to 12 V. I also have a 12 V battery and I'll just often run those device devices directly from the battery and I get much more run time per ah of battery.

Lol. These were NEVER $1,055. These "sale" prices are ridiculous. Like it's still a good deal. I bought two of these at ~$300 each last year and love them, but please they need to stop saying they're marking it down 75%!

No. These are NOT starter batteries. That isn't how it works.

Probably a dumb question... say I have a small btu window unit that pulls 5 amps while running. Does that mean I can run it for 280/5=56 hrs? Or is there some other missing variables I need to account for?

Could I run a whole camper trailer (30 amp) for 280a/30a hours?
5 amps is most likely at 120 VAC. You generally lose about 20% efficiency with an inverter.

So let's say its 120 VAC * 5a = 600 Wh
600w * 120% = 720 Wh
3584Wh / 720w = ~5 hours

Right! It is more than 3kWh and can do the tax credit if used for home battery storage. The 280Ah threw me off
don't the batteries need to be "installed" for the tax credit? what is the definition of an installation?

Need some help people .. how do I utilize this to make a backup power substation for electrical outages? Don't need to hook this to panel - I just need ability to charge the batteries, and use the battery to power basic household lamps etc., internet router .. ability to run dishwasher and refrigerator would be great ...
You'll need an inverter to hook up to the battery. I have a 2000W inverter for backup, but you should assess how many watts you'll need for your appliances/chargers.

Installed means being used for home power. I just got 4 of these so basically I wire it and hook it into my existing 48V home system to double the battery capacity. As long as I do it by Dec 31st, it's 100% legit to claim the tax credit. I paid $3300 for my existing 14.3kWh EG4 battery.

I bought 2 of these. Anyone recommend an inverter to use? I am experimenting, wanting to run a small solar setup to run my homelab server (running 100w continuous)

Using two of these batteries in parallel for my camper. They have decent balance out of the box. Be aware they have no overcurrent protection according to Will Prowse. I'm using MRBF fuses on each battery to protect my wires.
What Fuse size did you go with, relative to the size of your wires, if I may ask.....

Question for RVers in SD: Will one of these batteries be sufficient to replace 2 house parallel Marine Gel 12V batteries? Or will it require 2 of these? I just bought 1, but might go for 2. I have a camper van (Class B).

Yes, and no. It might have overcurrent protection now. What is weird is that in his latest video he makes no mention of it not having it the first time he tested it.

9 months ago Will Prowse tested this battery and it did not have overcurrent protection: https://youtu.be/pZm4fa_GjCM?si=9...KXrDA&t=60

However, 10 days ago he tested another one and it did have overcurrent protection: https://youtu.be/MDjB7NAxGZM?si=w...hlw1S&t=95

Still smart to use fuses and circuit breakers regardless.

It does not have the CCA to start a car.
For EV, this would work then?

No. This is way bigger than a car battery. It's for power storage. I got two of them in my trailer. Works well - you can run the air conditioner for 8 hours off them.
No, it will destroy your alternator.

I have a couple of these batteries and am using one of these inverters with each - https://www.ebay.com/itm/376195194079

I have one battery/inverter combo set up in my crawlspace as a sump pump backup. the other one I just have in my utility room and use it for backup power for my refrigerator, chest freezer, and modem/network equipment during power outages. the longest power outage I've had since using this setup is about 14 hours and there was still plenty of juice left in the batteries.
