UBISOFT recently added an OFFLINE Mode for the game. (After all the backlash when they shutdown The Crew "1" servers.)- I tried it and I could play the game totally offline.
- UBISOFT Launcher will launch.
- Battle Eye Anti-Cheat tries to launch, detects OFFLINE and closes (I assume.)
- Game Starts.
- NOTE: Your saves will be stored on your PC and not in STEAM cloud or UBISOFT Cloud. Must GO Online to load save to UBISOFT CLOUD and REDEEM Purchases.

The server emulator for The Crew 1 barely came out in September, despite being talked about years ago: https://thecrewunlimite
UBISOFT didn't make an offline mode for the first Crew game. That's why you couldn't play it after they shutdown the servers.

The multiplayer servers are still up to my knowledge, so your comment is irrelevant.

Ubisoft only kept The Crew 1 servers up for 8 years, so it's very much relevant whether people want to go through that all over again.
Nobody cares about the offline mode.

Adding an offline mode helps the value proposition by not buying a completely unplayable game, but you aren't getting the intended experience without multiplayer.
Would you play CoD only with bots? Solo WoW?
Ubisoft is just in it to scrape the bottom of the barrel for a quick cash grab.
Some of us didn't forget that most multiplayer games used to come with server software to keep games alive indefinitely.

"I don't play that way" doesn't negate the fact that a majority of people play this for the multiplayer.
The game was marketed to have seasonal and live events from the get go.
Even if your intent was to never play it with other people, you're telling me that your expectation was to miss out on 90% of the promised content? Of course not. You experienced and paid for the "GaaS" portion of the game whether you played with people or not.
So while you can be "the weirdo" who pays extra for the extended crew cab only to drive nobody but yourself around, it's only the kind of head scratcher contrarianism that serves no one.
The bottom line is that Ubisoft could have provided software to host your own server if they cared about preserving the game.
Instead, what they likely did is add a cut down local server that just makes your game run worse and takes out one of the main draws.
And we should be praising them for feeding you back a tiny morsel of what they sold it as?
If you mean to tell me that you bought the game prior to the offline mode being announced, then your argument doesn't hold as much water as you think it does and you're just being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian.

Not because of the online servers... 🤦 ♂️

Is Fortnite still a game if the servers go down?
The servers WERE the game.
To say that it's not the same with the second game just because they added a half-assed offline local server that doesn't even support LAN play is major cope.
There's a reason people worked to restore multiplayer for the first game. And they'll have to do the same with the second game eventually.
