I got the higher up version that is self propelled. I got it for $125 on a clearance deal. I wouldn't pay more than that. The cut is poor. The battery lasts a long time but it seems to run in a lower power mode until it hits a thicker patch of grass and then it Speeds up. It really needs to run in that higher power mode all the time for a better cut.

I have a slightly different version it came with the 5ah battery from toro.com.
During their 50% off sale.
Lovin it.
Liked it so much I bought the matching 60v blower, and 60v string trimmer. (came with 2.5ah batteries)

Does it cut as well as a nice honda gas mower.. no mainly due to the battery saving low rpm it runs at until it detects heavier grass.

does it do just fine for trimming about 15min sure.. 3/4 battery left.
I wish there was manual turbo speed mode.. it will spin up for heavier grass..
but I'd prefer it faster all the time since I'm only trimming for 15min or so.

It would mow my whole yard but after working 10 hours who wants to push mow for 1.5 hours.
(I have a deere 316 tractor for the rest of yard)

3 bad gas mowers in 5 years.. hoping the battery holds up.

You might have to check the manual. Maybe you have the settings on automatic mode. I have a makita lawn mower. And It has a few differents mode. Like, automatic, silent and regurlar.

The picture shows two handle levers. For it to be a push mower, it only needs one... For the kill switch. The other is for self propelled. Am I missing something?

Probably used the pictures from the self propelled version. The manual only shows one bar

I'm pretty sure that this is a rebadged Greenworks. You can get a Greenworks for cheaper when they're on sale.

It's the "eco" blade the have pre installed. Slap the recycler blade for the gas model and it's great.

Wonder if there is a way to trick it into the high rpm mode all of the time ?

fwiw I've worked on over a hundred push mowers over the years as a hobby. I'd say 95% of them stop running because of bad gas, either dirt or water mixed in with it. Ethanol can also cause issues especially if you let it sit for awhile, but less of an issue with modern mowers with plastic carburetors. If you make sure your gas can is super clean, and then also use ethanol free gas from the pump (and prime the pump with a gallon into your car first!) I'd guess you'd stop having issues

The other Toro product s pretty good? I also would be using this for tight spots the rider isn't great at getting into. I have EGO products otherwise, but the EGO mowers are so expensive for something I use for 10 minutes during a regular mow.

I currently just use a 20+ year old Murray gas mower, but I think that old Briggs motor might be ready for a rebuild or something.

Believe it or not but this is one of the few that is not rebadge. I find it funny even badboy has a rebadged green works. And yes i have a glorious self propelled 24+24 greenworks. Kinda wish you had a choice of more than one blade though. Cherish the high lift if yours came with both eco and high lift blades in the box, because they do not sell the highlift. and while you can get a dual blade in the new 22", god forbid they just make it a 21".

It wasn't gas issues. I use ethanol free 90 octane.
it was bargain brand crap issues. I was too cheap to go buy a honda or toro.

also all my echo gear Chainsaw, backpack blower, string trimmer etc.. all work fine.

The toro 60v works great.. for what it is.
its not going to be a quadra cut honda gas mower.. but I dont need that.

I like that its basically a regular lawnmower with the motor swapped out for an electric motor.
steel deck etc.

If anyone is still reading

mower number 1 was troy bilt inherited it well used... 1 height adjuster(for all 4 wheels) and it snapped off pot-metal.. I broke the mower disassembling it you had to take the transmission etc all out to replace the lever.

2nd mower was sams club clearance for $140 it lasted 6 weeks and carb fell apart literally. Chinese carb worked for 2 months then leaked gas into the crankcase.. I didn't notice since gas is clear and on top of oil.
blew engine.

3rd mower worked for 1 month then autochoke drove me nuts and i curb parked it one day... lasted about 35min until it had a new home.
also have bad shoulder.. less pull starting is A-ok with me.

Have this mower and love it, plus you can get parts for it from the Toro repair shops as it uses the similar parts to their other models

Bought then returned this for an Ego this spring. For the high cost, this mower is underwhelming in design and thought. For exactly what it is, the traditional mower with motor swapped for electric, it costs too much at retail. That wouldn't have been too bad but countless reviews mentioned battery life dying after a relatively short time compared to Egos which last much longer - basically twice as long if you compare the anecdotal experiences. I would much rather have a more expensive system that will see several years of use than one that will take potentially twice as many battery changes. The batteries cost more than half the system at retail and at these prices are basically more than this discounted set.
Only buy if you're really looking for your first electric mower and a deep discount. But if you want a full set of tools look elsewhere, including at Ryobi, Kobalt or especially Ego.

also interested. The low power mode absolutely is terrible. It leaves 40-60% of the clippings on the ground and CANT vaccuum up a cpl leafs that fell onto the lawn. But high speed mode it performs better. Havent used mower in 1.5 years and waiting for some hacker to get the high speed mode as a button.

I opened a ticket with Toro saying it was stupid how it couldnt pick up a fallen leaf from a windy day. And they closed the ticket and said "You arent supposed to use a mower to pick up leaves. Rake the yard before mowing." Can you believe that? Never buying a $400 EV mower ever again.
