Maybe I need another cup of coffee, but ...
Is the OP price incorrect? This would cost $90 total ($55 for signup/first month + $35 for second month)?

Edit/Addition for future readers (who don't go past the first page):
OP price is correct if you want the phone to use on ST the final cost is just the 1-month plan ($55). My comment about the final price being higher, was for this phone to be unlocked, which would involve purchasing one additional month of service, which would not necessarily need to be the Gold Unlimited plan.

Activated phone when IMEI became available online while the phone is prepped for shipping. Request a new number and it worked for both phones.

This is one of the few phones left in 2025 with a full feature set...

5G Modem.
8GB ram / 128GB rom
OIS on main camera.
5000 mah battery.
QI charging.
SD card slot.
Headphone jack.
IP68 resistance.

This beats out the S25 Ultra and the iPhone 17 pro max in terms of features... for less than $100 each.

This Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 deal stands out for a feature packed budget phone, with OLED display, IP68 water resistance, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, microSD expansion, headphone jack, wireless charging, and a 5000mAh battery. The phone is also praised for snappy performance, good face unlock, and solid value once it unlocks. The main catch is the service requirement, since unlocking depends on 60 days of paid service and the plan math can change with autopay, taxes, and plan downgrades. A few reports also flag battery drain, bloatware, and occasional activation or shipping hiccups, making it a strong value if the carrier terms fit your plan.

Common Questions (6)

  • It unlocks after 60 days of paid service, and the second month is required to satisfy that requirement. The service does not need to be continuous, but the phone must remain tied to paid service long enough for the unlock clock to complete.

    ellemdeeoregon14lxtngAnciusD

  • Yes, the plan can be downgraded after the first month, and the Bronze plan is commonly used for the second month. The new plan should be added in reserve or at the next cycle so you do not lose remaining paid days or interrupt the 60-day unlock window.

    jimx200arny56JWL418AnciusD

  • The phone can zero out in cart when the required plan is selected, but taxes, fees, and shipping still apply. The required plan has shifted in the thread from Gold to Silver in some listings, so the exact minimum plan should be checked on the current offer page before ordering.

    jonah255jaimelobomhfskywaytp

  • Yes, the promo wording allows a new line of service or a port-in, and new-number activation has worked. Porting is optional for Straight Talk, though the phone still needs to be activated on the required plan.

    ellemdeecoolchicagoguycoolchicagoguycoolchicagoguy

  • It has some carrier bloat, and more can download after Wi‑Fi setup. Disabling Mobile Services Manager right after setup is the key step because it is the app that pushes much of the extra software.

    aerischanGreenMountain684whenry83oregon14

  • Yes, it has been reported working on Mint/T-Mobile after unlock, including dial-in voicemail. The phone also supports T-Mobile-friendly bands such as n71, so it should be a reasonable fit for T-Mobile-based service once unlocked.

I think I hear you.
So you think if I buy it online but don't actually activate it. Call and rebrand it with TracFone and pay the $19.99 plan, do you think that would work.
As I said I've done that in the past and it's worked but remember, this is a Tracfone company so anything can happen. Realistically though, you've already paid for the first month on Straight Talk, so you won't be saving much anyway. If you're goal is to unlock, why take the risk?

True. But it would be $45 + $19.99.
Compared to $45 + $35. Over a few phones it makes a bit of a difference.

Can I ask, If I buy this phone in store with the sliver plan/activate, should I wait the full 30 days and then rebrand with Tracfone and buy the $19.99 plan. Do you think it will work..

Also if I buy on online, (phone/plan) just to get the phone and don't activate with Straight Talk and activate with Tracfone with the $19,99 will that work.

Thanks
Activate it on Tracfone right away with that $19.99 90-day plan. From my experience, you need full 60 days on Tracfone to unlock.

That works if I'm able to but it from ST talk with the plan and not activate it with ST. Buy the $19.99 and activate with TracFone.

The ST website says the phone is: Free when you activate a line of service on a Silver Unlimited plan or higher.
If you activate it with a $20 Tracphone plan, are you sure you are going to get the phone for free?

No reason to wait full 30 days on Straight Talk because you need full 60 days on Tracfone to unlock. You cannot mix and match 30 days on each provider to unlock.

Phone is free when you bundle it with the required plan. What you do with the phone and the plan after you paid the bundled price is your choice. Many people just want to unlock the phone and use it on other provider. I think the cheapest option right now to unlock the phone is the Tracfone $19.99 90-day plan.

Sure. But your suggestion to "Activate it on Tracfone right away with that $19.99 90-day plan" could be read to activate it on that $20 plan BEFORE activating it on the required Silver (or better) ST plan. Maybe that's not even possible because you pay for the first month on the ST plan up front. We just don't want anyone to make a mis-step and end up paying retail for the phone.

That's the cheapest, just more hassle.

Just as easy to downgrade from Silver to Bronze for $45 + $35.

I activated the phone 11/5/25 My usage page says renew your service by Dec 05, 2025)

Whens the best time to add the next month $35 should I do it on or before Dec 05, 2025 or should I wait a day or 2 past Dec 05?

I don't want t wind up having to pay for a third month to hit the 60day mark

You can add before Dec 5. Choose reserve instead of activate now, and it will auto refill on your current plan end date.
