Is the OP price incorrect? This would cost $90 total ($55 for signup/first month + $35 for second month)?

OP price is correct if you want the phone to use on ST the final cost is just the 1-month plan ($55). My comment about the final price being higher, was for this phone to be unlocked, which would involve purchasing one additional month of service, which would not necessarily need to be the Gold Unlimited plan.

In my case, I let the first month expire (because of the unlock policy change in April). It doesn't have to be continuous service.<br />

Which version, 4G or 5G? It's a pretty big upgrade over the 4G version. Compared to the 5G version, the chipset isn't that much different but the 2025 does have 2-4GB more RAM.
P.S. Forgot to mention the 2025 has OLED display vs LCD on the 2023 models. That's probably the biggest upgrade.
2025 has eSIM, AMOLED Gorilla Glass screen (vs IPS or P-Oled non-Gorilla), ip68 rating (vs "resistant"), tri-band 6e wifi (vs ac), and a larger battery (2024 reportedly has better life even though battery isn't larger).
The 2024 was available with 256gb, unlocked, straight up, for only $200 on a SD and I still have been waiting for the 2025 because of the improvements to the screen, waterproofing, and wireless.

I bit on this even though I'm leery of the AMOLED screen (possible green line and PWM issues). FWIW, the MetroPCS version of the 2023 has e-sim (but not the unlocked version).
Other than that, I think AMOLED is better (true black, power savings for dark mode, etc) honestly. Hopefully that makes you feel a little better?
Didn't realize any carrier version of the older had e-SIM, I usually check unlocked. Good cal!
