This Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 deal stands out for a feature packed budget phone, with OLED display, IP68 water resistance, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, microSD expansion, headphone jack, wireless charging, and a 5000mAh battery. The phone is also praised for snappy performance, good face unlock, and solid value once it unlocks. The main catch is the service requirement, since unlocking depends on 60 days of paid service and the plan math can change with autopay, taxes, and plan downgrades. A few reports also flag battery drain, bloatware, and occasional activation or shipping hiccups, making it a strong value if the carrier terms fit your plan.

To have the phone unlocked by Straight Talk, is paying for 2 months of service but keep the phone off sufficient or do I need to keep the phone on and connected to their cell tower?
Is there a phone unlocked service we could just pay to unlock using the IMEI rather than dealing with Straight Talk's policies?

Keep it on wi-fi after the 60 days of service have passed.
No.

For people who still want to buy, don't. I had my phone delivered on oct 28th and i am unable to activate until now. Wasted 5 hrs of customer calls and they say its activated and it never did. I purchased the plan so they wanted an activation code or something which I never got. Finally i want to give up and return but when i login to my account it says no account exist. But i can still see my order in i click on track my order from the email. Last rep told me to call bank and dispute the charge as it's impossible to return.
It's not worth the time and hassle.

How did you try to activate? It should be pretty straight forward. Go to Activate, Straight Talk phone...enter the phone's IMEI. The plan is tied to the phone when you bought them together. Shouldn't need to talk to anyone at all.

It's literally a 5 minute ordeal. They have a big RED piece of paper with the phone telling you how to do everything. I've activated 5 phones/tablets on Straightalk now and I don't think any of them have taken longer than 5 minutes....

No.
Sorry, does this mean I can activate the phone and service. Then turn it off and throw it in a drawer, making sure to pay for the second month. 60+ days later, I can turn it on and the phone will automatically unlock if connected to wifi?

Activate it and verify that it's activated by making an outgoing call then I think you can pretty much turn it off and put it in the drawer. Make sure you pay for your second month and turn it back on near the end of the 60 days! This how I did a some Metro deals like this. This is my first straight talk deal though.

Bought one. Its been week and my order still hasn't shipped. Customer service said they can't cancel the order. I ordered a bunch phones from Total before and most of the time i have the phone in my hands within 3 or 4 days of ordering.

Ouch I hope I don't have to wait that long, ST usually aren't as quick with fulfillment as Total is, I could be wrong but I believe I remember ST customer service long ago telling me they could cancel if it's been a month wait. The Verizon value brands are all terrible at being transparent with customers and telling them if an item is backordered before they buy.

This is the 5G phone, right?
Straight Talk refers to it as: "moto g stylus - 2025", without the 5G
Wanna make sure I'm getting the 5G, and not the one without it. .

How do people learn whether or not phone service is good at what they want to do with the phone? Like I want to replace dsl home Internet. I see the closest tower to my home is att, next T-Mobile, and then Verizon. I currently get 4g Verizon fine I suspect on 850ish mhz band. But high speed like greater than 5megabits is what I want. I read T-Mobile 5g is most developed, then att and then Verizon. I also read T-Mobile has n71 and n51 while att and Verizon split N5 and att has N2. And n71>n51>N2=N5 based on emf physics. Please educate me.

n71 is actually T-Mobiles long-range band, much like Verizon's band 4/12 (700mhz).

The thing that gives T-Mobile all the speed is the n41 / band 41.

Motorola isn't releasing new 4g only phones in the USA anymore so they got rid of 5g in the phone names.
