Yep. The Mobile Services app is the culprit that loads/reloads the bloatware. Go to the list of apps (might have to turn on Show System Apps) and disable Mobile Services app first, then disable the bloatware.

Did you ever get an aswer to this? I have the same question.
I'm sure you can use the same sim on TracFone once rebranded. But it won't get unlocked unless you pay for 2 months of service. Swapping device on TracFone doesn't count as paid service.

Seems we are all in the same boat with this deal.

I placed my order Wednesday Afternoon.

This is what I see when I checked the order status today -

Status: Pending remote fulfillment

I think it's wise to be a little patient with this deal, seeing as it seems no one on this board has had their bundle shipped.

If I had to guess, I think it may be the tablet that is holding up the shipping. They should have plenty of that phone in stock so that shouldn't be the problem.

I might give it a week from today to update the status. This is a smoking hot deal if you ask me. That phone alone is worth the $100.

The issue is they charge people's cards before even sending out the device. So if you're wanting to do the unlock after 60 days, does it start when you receive the phone or when you were charged?

The thing with them charging peoples cards prior to shipping and then taking forever to ship is just par for the course with this company. Has been for years honestly. Just look at the extremely popular straight talk iPhone se 3 for $80 post from last year. Same shit.Gotta know what you're getting yourself into when you do business with these guys. I'm not saying good or bad, I'm just saying, it is what it is. Its why when I placed my order I was prepared for delays and even a cancelation. If they actually end up shipping it, I'll be super happy. If not, oh well, I just had $100 held up for a few weeks. That actually looks like a kind of tablet I would get as I am a big time reader so I'm very exicted if I can indeed get this deal. But if not, again, oh well. I can try again next time around.

-------------------------------

The 60 days starts when you activate the phone with a service plan. For example, I have an iphone I bought from straight talk from last week and have yet to activate it. Ive turned it on and starting setting it up with my icloud and downloading apps but just haven't gotten around to activating it yet.Doesn't matter when you bought it. Its when you activate it.

So if you have a plan you paid for (one year plan) on tracfone and swap the service to this phone it wont count?

What if you pay for the $15 a month plan on tracfone for a month, do you think that will count for unlocking it? or is the only option doing the $35 plan on straight talk to get the phone unlocked?

The TOS seem to be clear that the 60 days must be on Straight Talk so I will just stick with what I know works. Several folks have had problems with unlocking by rebranding to Tracfone and some have not.

Anyone else having trouble buying the top-up from Walmart? I'm getting this error even though the phone is active and able to make calls: "Please validate the phone number entered is active with the carrier plan/brand selected."

I am also getting the Walmart reload error - Please validate the phone number entered is active with the carrier plan/brand selected.. This part of the deal should be removed from the original post.

They're telling me the Walmart top-up won't work with this phone. Any other options for adding a cheap second month of service?
I'm getting the same error. What did you all decide to do? Got with the $35 bronze prepaid plan?

This is only my 2nd time dealing with ST. So what you're saying is that in the past they would still eventually ship out the order, even after weeks?

They will ship when stock is available. Can be days, weeks or month. You think they just keep your money and not sending you anything?

As things are now, that seems to be the case. Not a single update from them after the initial order confirmation, not even a message saying the item is on backorder or whatnot. Like I said, only my 2nd time dealing with ST and the first time I had no issues. But still, lack of communication is pretty unprofessional.

I'm in no rush to get the service or anything since I'm just in it for the deal, but once it gets closer to closing date for the CC that I used, and I still don't have anything, I'm not going to pay for something I didn't get.

I have no problem waiting, just want to know what to expect. I ordered on 10/23, it's been 11 days and it still says "Pending Remote Fulfillment".

Are you saying it could still take another week or two and then it will ship? Is that what happened with last year's iPhone deal you mentioned?

These prepaid service providers have 0 customer service. Don't expect a simple phone call will address any issue. Your best action is to wait it out. If you try to cancel your order it will take months to get your refund.
