I unchecked that option and was able to get paypal and use that to make payment and it worked. was on chat with CS for 2 hours and they could not do it either.

I am pretty sure I had disabled auto-pay. This was in my cart, before checkout and before I entered any payment information.
The TCL tablet according to what I've read does not have the unlock requirement, it's unlocked straight off the bat. I haven't tried sticking another company's SIM yet but I remember reading this somewhere - either on this site or Reddit. So I don't know if you have to keep the SIM card in there but I'm gonna do so anyway - I mean, you HAVE to buy the 3 month plan so why not use what you bought, right?
However, the Moto 5G Stylus is carrier locked - you have to keep that SIM it came with in there. This does not mean you have to use the phone every day, the main thing is you need 60 days of continuous service (just remember to "refill" with a cheaper plan on day 27 or 28)

Can confirm the Tablet is unlocked. Sweet little piece of tech for dirt cheap. Gonna look into ShredFriction889's Stay Connected workaround.
Please do not use the suggested plan that OP mentioned - that DOES NOT work for existing Straight Talk devices that have been on the network for less than 12 months.
It sounds like these orders ship in waves. People who ordered in the second half of October and first half of November got their order today or yesterday, so I guess those of us who found out about this deal later got lucky haha.
These two devices are good tech for the price.

If we recharge on day 27 or 28, does the new plan kick in as soon as old one is over? I hope it doesn't replace the old plan in which case we will not hit 60 days.

It is inside the little green envelope taped to the back of the tablet box.
