I bought this last time it was on sale and I can definitely recommend it for the price. The magnet and hanging hole are nice for when you're grilling in the backyard. No idea how accurate it is but I've made smoked salmon a few times and it tastes great when I pull it off at 125-135f

been waiting for another one of these - the instant read is actually pretty amazing. started using it when i refresh the water in our aquarium - never had a big issue from just feeling the temp, but it's really cool to know exactly what temp your critters are used to

I have one as well and I think it reads a bit low. My steaks read 130 and they are a tad more medium rare than I think they should be. It feels like it's about 5 degrees low.

Electrical Engineer here. It may very well be a good product, but no chance neither the batteries nor the electronics will survive 300°C as advertized. The battery will likely explode over 60°C. Electronics can work up to 150°C, but will fail long before 300°C. So you can not put it in a hot oven even if the meat is at a "cool" 60°C. Blatant lies like this printed on the product says enough about the manufacturer that they could care less.

Bought one last time it went on sale for $4.40. Is way better than the one I bought at the grocery store for $18 and took forever to get a reading.

Yup. This is my 4th thermometer. And despite being, by far, the cheapest it is also the best.
Quickest read I've ever gotten, accurate as far as I can tell, digital is nice, the magnet is nice to slap it on the side of my grill while cooking.

Got 2 (bought 3 previously). Excellent for gifts.
I have a Thermapen, which I use all the time. Very useful for not overcooking fish. Any kind of meat and meat product (like sausages). Of course slow cooked meat probably needs heat longer to soften it. And so on ...
Leftovers reheated = 165°F and the food is ready.

Words from the worst electrical engineer of all time. Bro, stay in your lane. You don't put this whole thing into a 300°c oven, you poke your meat/food/whatever for a few secs to get the internal temp reading. Wow.
