I'm currently on the hunt for some waterproof shoes. Are these any good? The low rating of 3.6 is giving me a pause.

Has anyone had issues with the toe flakes falling off? Saw some complaints but some people are brutal on trail runners.

I have both. The 5 is noticeably better imo. The ReactX in the 5's midsole is noticeably bouncier. Traction feels better too. If you're happy with the 4, I'd definitely consider a 5 at this price and save it for when your older shoe wears out.

These are good for trail running, light hiking etc. But if you want a hiking shoe that can provide some ankle support, I would look elsewhere

I don't run in them but I got them for a vacation to Disney World. Insanely comfortable and the waterproofing was awesome for Florida.

Some of the specks have come off even with casual wear but it's not horrible.

I have these, the gortex lining on the inside are right to the top of my feet even when I try to put them on loose. Sometimes it's bothers my feet. Only real complain in have. Came from Pegasus 41

Haven't had the gortex but own the regular version and these shoes are farking aweeeeesome, great grip on uneven surfaces, excellent support, even feels like there is some... Rebound? Bounce? They feel GOOD.
