Note that these will control basic functions, but do not have "voice" capability.
We have Hisense Roku (3 different models) and had no success getting generic controls to work in voice - even ones that featured voice buttons. If you have the dark-silver-color voice remote, you need to buy one of those (generic, $40+) to get voice control to work. At least for our 3 Hisense models, that is, YMMV.
There's nothing special about the price of these remotes. There are numerous Roku 3rd -party remote listings on Amazon around the same price or slightly more. Some with backlighting.
To make my point, another seller has had this exact remote in a 4-pack for $11.99 for quite a while.
You don't have kids.. andbtuays not convenient. I presume your a younger generation so the app appeals to you more. Why open an app to control a tv, my phone may be doing other uses.

YES, This, Exactly! Why is this even posted let alone FP?
Because, four for most people is overkill. It's a great deal if you want to buy 4 at once for $12, but at some point, if you don't need or want that many, spending an extra $5 or $5.50 more (with 10% sales tax) for the sake of saying "why is this FP" is not the definition of wisdom.
Also note that the price is not 'everyday' clearly shows 20% off.
For the same reason, the two packs are NOT $7 everyday. That is why it is FP. If you think that deal is FP worthy, go post it and see what happens. I'll guarantee the demand for 4 at that price is far less than 2 at this price. AND THAT MY DEAR WATSON IS WHY THIS DEAL IS FP!!
Couple things to consider on Roku remotes that are personal preferences:
1. Volume button placement. OEM remotes use a side placement, which is weird until you are trained on it. Some replacement remotes move it back to the front. Also a few do not have any volume controls, so look out for that. This remote has front volume buttons.
2. The streaming service buttons. There are 3rd party and OEM remotes with different permutations of Netflix, Hulu, appleTV, disney, HBO, roku channel, etc, etc. Some older ones will be for services that don't exist anymore.
3. Number of channel buttons. Some are 4 button, some are 6 button. Think I saw an 8 button with some weird options.
My family uses Netflix, Hulu, roku, disney, and prime in that order and I *cannot* find a remote with all five, or even the top four that *also* have volume buttons. So I'm getting one without roku-channel with side buttons, which is a different remote (2 for $8)
Yes, came here to mention #1: volume buttons not on the side is awful for me. I would be fumbling for those buttons on the top all the time, I'm sure.

I have kids and im not a 'younger generation' whatever that means. I stand by my comment.

So then the kids all probably have phones. I have a younger kid and she doesn't have a ohone, intentionally. Therefore remotes are required when we give her tv time.

No my kids don't have phones lol. Why are you assuming so much?

No mic/voice input is a good thing in my book.
Mine kills batteries like crazy because it's always listening
Roku's privacy policy/terms of service is the most invasive and disgusting I've ever seen - it gives them carte blanche to upload/profile/sell anything they can gather with their devices.

This *ONLY* works with roku tv? I have the stand alone IR boxes and this IR remote looks practically identical?
