Used this on a couple trips as main charging for my wife and I. Just charged it in the hotel while we're out, both plugged in at night. Fast.

I got this one for $8 about a month ago. It works pretty good, but the capacity seems like it's a little lower than advertised. Overall I'd say it's decent but with all the battery deals coming out I'm sure those new generation batteries are coming soon. Keep in mind the new generation batteries are supposed to drop costs 90%.

Regarding new generation batteries, are you referring to sodium ion ones?

In the fine print I believe it mentions that ~40% of power is lost in heat when the power is being transferred from the battery to your phone, so the 10,000ma can charge ~6,000ma

Wow, sounds promising if true. Can you share a source?

I haven't seen that information anywhere on their Amazon or direct website descriptions. either way I didnt think 10k was enough and got the mini 20k 65w for $23 last week

it's printed on the back of the device; mine says
Battery capacity 10000mAh/37W/3.7V
Output Capacity 6200mAh/5V/31Wh (Typicaly energy loss accounted)
Which I have NEVER seen any other power bank manufacturer list or admit to

This brand is doing some surprising things, at very appealing price points (especially on sale), and I really like this charger. I bought two. The only ding against them -- and only relevant to me because I travel in and around China sometimes -- is that they don't have 3C certification.

62% seems pretty low, I consider around 80% usable (so enough to recharge another 8000mAh battery) to be normal. Maybe they are doing some combined math there to get to how much another battery can be recharged considering losses on both sides and a buffer on top of that.

Either way I am really liking the products. Sounds weird to say about a battery pack but they feel high quality in the hand, nice materials, good fit and finish, rounded corners, etc... and seem to be packaged efficiently, small sizes for the usable capacities.

I don't know much about electrical engineering or energy conversion so take this with a grain of salt, but with 100% efficiency, converting from the battery's 37Wh at 3.7V (10000mAh) to 5V output is: 37Wh / 5V = 7400mAh just from the step-up, so 74%.
And gemini tells me a 'good' power bank's efficiency is somewhere between 80 and 90% efficient in the conversion, losing 10-20% in heat, so you'll expect somewhere between 5920mAh and 6660mAh output at 5V.
So they're assuming this one is smack dab in the middle of the efficiency range at around 85%, which I think is pretty reasonable.
Edit: I guess for me, the more important things are that their chargers are by far the smallest/slimmest I can find for the power output and capacity (10000mAh at 45W is pretty rare, and I certainly can't find one specced like this that's this small), AND their prices are low enough that I wonder how they're making a profit.
I looked up the company behind them, as I was trying to purchase one of these chargers with 3C cert and couldn't find one. They are based in Guangzhou I believe, and only target foreign markets. You'll find their power banks on Chinese reseller sites for 3x-4x what they're going for here, which is... weird.

Works well. It's small. I have no complaints. Built in USB c charger is cool. Bought to use on hikes. Ended up using it to charge my apple watch and cellphone because it's just more mobile and convenient to always be on my phone charging.

The only downside I don't like is how bright the indicator light is if using in dark room while in bed. You can simply flip it over so no harm there but that's the only con I can think of. For the weight and the price this is for sure the best bang. Sure you can save 30 grams but loosing 50% batter. Not worth imo and Costs much more

Most likely. Sodium ion is a lot cheaper to make compare to solid state and current lithium ion.

There is no 100% energy efficiency.

Getting 6000-7000 mAh output capacity at 5V for a 10k mA power bank is pretty typical. See https://powerbank20.com/en/actual...-capacity/ for some tests that were run on some well-known brands (e.g. Xiaomi, Anker)
