The Sony a7 IV is a strong all around mirrorless body for photo and video, with fast eye tracking autofocus, solid resolution for large prints, and long term usefulness. The bundle adds a 128GB UHS II card, spare battery, charger, and bag, but the included 28 to 70mm lens is widely seen as the weak link and likely the first thing to replace. Pricing also looks fluid, with some listings showing a higher total and the bundle details not always matching the images. A solid package if the body is the main draw.

  • The A7 IV body delivers strong autofocus with eye tracking for both photo and video work.

  • The A7 IV sensor resolution can support large 24x36 prints when paired with a good lens.

  • The bundle price can be competitive even when comparing against non-student Greentoe pricing after tax.

  • A shutter-closing feature can reduce sensor dust accumulation when removing lenses over time.

  • The included 28-70mm lens can limit image quality and is described as a throw-away option.

  • The bundle price can change, showing $2053.10 with accessories and the lens instead of the advertised total.

  • The A7 IV can show more rolling-shutter in video due to relatively slow sensor readout.

  • Greentoe returns may involve restocking fees, which can reduce value if accessories are not useful.

Do you have this lens? If so, how about a link to some of your photos? I'm looking for images from actual users as I've been researching this combo. I have seen plenty of beautiful photos from the 28-70 lens btw and this review is solid: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2...e_vignette [thephoblographer.com]
Yes, I have the lens (it came with a Sony A7ii I bought years ago). That lens wasn't good enough for that camera let alone the vastly superior A7iv.

I could take decent photos with any camera and any lens, but this lens isn't doing anyone any favors and to put it on a $2.5K body is an insult to the camera.

I do not have any published photos taken with that lens, as I mentioned, it is a toss away. Even other $200 lenses (say from Tamron) have better image quality. A $400 used Sony A7 (first gen) is going to have more resolving power than that lens does. Thus using it on an A7iv is an insult to that camera.

The review photos there are mediocre at best. And if you notice in the review, they are using it on the original A7 (and in some instances the A7ii). The A7iv is a completely different class of camera, and yes, I actually own all 3 so I'm fully aware.

The lens quality is more important than the camera body quality in terms of outcome of image quality. The lens becomes the limiting factor. So a deal like this, you toss the lens and buy something halfway decent. If you have no intention of paying more, then buy a better lens and get a cheaper body.

You have 3 cameras in the series, but no image hosting site for any? I've seen and read enough positive reviews from this lens to avoid it. Lots of good looking images with the lens on Flickr and 500px.

Not for that particular lens. I have images with those camera bodies with other lenes attached. I can try to send you an IM if you would like to judge if I'm a competent photographer based on my work.
